I received this book as a Christmas gift. There are lots of pretty and delicate designs in the book and I like how the author finds many different uses for a few basic embellishments however every card in the book is a 5"x5" card - the dimensions/scale are planned for square cards as opposed to rectangular cards. I also thought more illustrations would have been helpful in some cases. I don't think a beginner card maker would find this book very helpful.

I really liked the cards designed by Claire Sun-Ok Choi even though as one reviewer mentioned almost all the cards are square. I bought this book after I had seen it in my library and liked the projects. The methods used are simple, well described and accompanied with step by step pictures. In other words,instructions are clear and understandable.

I really loved all the projects in the book. They are elegant, wonderful. They are not described step by step, what could make it a little difficult for begginers to follow, but results are marvelous.

The use of simple materials - often no more than card stock paper and tools on hand - lends to the final production of a personalized masterpiece following the techniques outlined in Designing Handcrafted Cards.

Yes, they are all square, but so what - it is very easy to simply use different size instead. The are so simple and beautiful. I had more problems with canadian terms - press pen is embossing stylus,punch wheel is serrated tracing wheel.

I like this book because it gave me some good ideas. I wasn't overwhelmingly impressed and didn't feel it was a great value, which is why I only gave it 3 stars. But the ideas are clever and I will probably use them all.

This book is WONDERFUL! One of my new favorites. Fantastic ideas along with step-by-step instructions. A must-have for any card maker who enjoys creating very pretty cards.

Love this reference book. Clean beautiful and inovative cards. Go back to it time and time for inspiration. One of my best purchases for crafting cards.

There is really nothing I see so special in this book that I have not seen from the internet so I am giving it a 3 star. After receiving it, I browsed through it and it ended in one of my bookshelves hoping one day I might pick it up again for inspiration. Or give it to my dear daughter-in-law for inspiration.

Card making is such an individual creative process. These are fantastic ideas to copy or expand upon for making cards to share for holidays, birthdays and other card-occasions. A beautifully illustrated book to keep on the shelf for reference.
