Direct Instruction: How to do book.,
By Lawrence Walker (New Zealand) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Designing Instructional Strategies: The Prevention of Academic Learning Problem (Paperback)
This book lays the foundation of the underpinning principles of Direct Instruction. The authors clearly and explicitly step the read through the DI model. The book is sectioned off into sub types. These are defined and and practical strategies are given to use the DI model with curriculum areas. This book is a must for all those wishing to use the most effective teaching model currently available to classroom teachers.

Reads like Stereo Instructions,
By Melissa McCleary (YORK, PA, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Designing Instructional Strategies: The Prevention of Academic Learning Problem (Paperback)
I bought this book for a college course in Education on preventing academic problems in the classroom. I had to read each paragraph at least three times in order to understand what the author was trying to state about the students, instructors, or content. This is not a good book for someone who is unfamiliar with the content as it only frustrates by giving choppy information, unclear definitions, and incomplete thoughts. Even as an Education major, I could not comprehend why this book was assigned. The copy I received was published in 1976 and it appears in desperate need up an update as it has lost touch with its students' needs. The information itself may still be relevant, by the format in which it is presented falls short of any desire.

The book was what I needed. I thought it would have the color version for the cover but its still the same content so that's not a problem. good service.
