Well worth the money...,

I found this book to be well worth the money. The 70-219 test is a hard one to sum up in a book. You've probably noticed that most of the prep books for this test are rated low. There's a reason... this test isn't about what you know, it's about being able to apply what you know. If you've already taken the 70-217 test (Directory Services Administration), then you should already know the information needed to pass the test. The key is getting practice with scenario questions. Granted, the scenarios in this book are considerably shorter than the real test, but in a way that's better. The answer explainations are quite good as well. If you don't fully understand the pieces of Active Directory, I'd recommend checking a book like one of the following, they'll help you much more in the long-run than an "exam prep" book. ** types of knowledge you need to know for this test: Domain master roles: Know about replication - timing, types (IP vs SMTP), and using sites to help manage replication Know the purpose of forests, domains, sites, OUs, and the purpose of each. Anyway, I passed my test, and I think this book will help you pass yours. It would take a whole lot for me to give anything 5 stars, so 4 is quite good. Good luck...

I recommend this book for my students but they need to use another material as well like Test out and Transcender.

I usually like the MCSE Readiness Reviews. Reading the right and wrong answers is usually a real education. This one, however, is poorly done. It asks too many questions built on faulty scenarios. For example, question 70-219.01.03.002 on page 22 shows a proseware.com domain with child domains called cd.litware.com and dvd.litware.com. How can a child domain have a completely different naming scheme than the parent domain? No one can answer a question set up on such a faulty scenario!Skip this one.... |
