I LOVE IT!

This book was above and beyond what I expected. I am very pleased with the quality of the designs, the paper. I couldn't be more pleased.

The designs in this one are fabulous. It's just too bad I only got to color one of them before my cat knocked over my drink and spilled Pepsi all over it, ruining the entire book. Even vellum can't stand up to liquids...lol.

I will be ordering another, eventually.

If you love art deco, this is definitely for you.

I do stained glass designs not as window ornaments, but to hang on walls. I color them with markers, then affix a bright colored sheet of paper to one side, matte, and frame.

I love this book! The patterns are varied and very different. My roommate and I both oohed and ahhed over these patterns. I hope others will get as big a kick out of this as we did! A big recommendation.

Dover Books is superior for their superior quality books; but of note --> I do want to EMPHASIS THIS ... this is a "Stained Glass" type media paper book, not the usual standard Dover multi-media books with heavy weights.

1) You can use various media from crayons to oil

2) You can duplicate from originals (if you are able to find and locate the original stained glass online and make a copy or save as) with attempt to duplicate the "real image" or be creative

3) It is two-sided; you have the ability to work on both sides on this type of media paper. Of note, the "wrong" side when you open the book faces you with the "right" side is in the back. I find these books handy when you tear it out and on a flat surface especially with a white cardboard to work on the "wrong side" if you want to post it on a window - for example, your kitchen window sill, you would want the "wrong side" facing out so that the sunlight would shine in like a stained glass. It does help to stop now and then to hold it up to the sunlight to see how it is all coming out.

4) You can frame these in dual glass frames with or without boarders or flat, if you so desire.

For the first timers who would like to TRY THIS, here is a recommendation, especially with media (except oil painting, which I suggest you start at the bottom first to get adapted and used to this type of exciting and new style of media) - always begin with a section, especially if it is a wet based (e.g. water color) or pastels - beginning with lightest color first and build your way up to the darkest color and use blending mode.

Of note, it isn't the same type of media such as a canvas or others; there is NO LEAD contained but has all the appearance of lead, so if you do know how to use oil painting and are willing to attempt this feat on this type of paper; I strongly suggest and recommend that you tape this to a hardwood to secure this on a white cardboard in the background. Keep in mind; you are going to have to "play it by ear" with dealing with this.

OVERALL - YOU WILL HAVE A BALL! HAVE A BLAST - IT IS AWESOME FOR ALL AGES - WHETHER YOU ARE 1 OR 100+ ... one word of warning ... IT IS ADDICTING!

this book is fantastic! Once you start on a picture you cant put it down until its finished. you come up with what color goes where to create the best picture and hang in a sunny window to show it off. really does look like stained glass.

Beautiful as always! I love the Dover series of stained glass coloring books, and the Art Deco designs are wonderful.

Many of the designs are just geometricals and those with characters are a little bit simple shaped. I defenetly prefer the book of sun signs.
