This is probably one of the best historical ménage books I've read so far. I really liked the characters Cordelia, Rhys and Jeremy. The men come home after a year of being heals captive after realizing they love each other and Cordelia. Now all they have to do is convince her this is real and it will work. It turned a little sappy for me in the end but I really wished the story was longer so we could see their future.

My Hearts Desire 4*

Caroline is still at her sisters house two years later after going there to recover from the accident that took her husbands life. She is basically hiding from the world and the people that will judge her for her scares. Jasper has always loved Caroline and has come to her sisters house party in hopes to convince her they could have a life together if only she will, allow it b

I really enjoyed these erotic short stories.

THE GIFT

The first story by Samantha Kane, "The Gift" is a ménage romance. Although I don't usually read this genre of books, I thoroughly enjoyed this short story. It is an extremely poignant story of two men who return home after being held as prisoners of war for several months. Both men, Rhys in particular, suffered extreme cruelty and torture at the hands of their captors. Jeremy and Rhys return home to Cordelia, a woman they had both courted and loved prior to her marriage to Jeremy.

Jeremy and Rhys have been best friends for many years. However, while P.O.W.'s they realized a newfound love for each other. Their greatest desire is that Cordelia will be willing to accept them both so the three of them can forge a new relationship with each other.

This story really touched me on an emotional level.

I was particularly sympathetic to Rhys who had suffered so much and was both physically and mentally scarred from his horrendous experience. I was happy Jeremy, Cordelia, and Rhys were able to get their HEA, but I felt the story ended a bit abruptly. An epilogue would have been nice to allow the reader to see how the three were faring a little down the road. Otherwise, a very entertaining read. I give this story 4 stars. BTW of course it's not clean...there is sex, it is graphic, and the language is crude. It is after all, an erotic story. LOL

MY HEART'S DESIRE

The second story, "My Heart's Desire, by Kate Pearce is a wonderful erotic story. I loved it! A five star read as far as I am concerned. The story is about a young woman who not only loses her husband, but also suffers extensive disfigurement during an accident.

This dualogy features two hot historical erotic romances which are each followed by the authors interviewing each other which was cool.

The first story by Samantha Kane is the beginning of a menage involving m/f/m and hinting at m/m/f. It explored two men coming home after being tortured POWs during the Victorian era, discovering how they felt about each other & the woman they both love.

Second story by Kate Pearce is a second chance romance for a scarred heroine who can't see how the hero can feel more than pity.

Both are scorching hot & nicely plotted, set during the Christmas season for the short stories that they are.

THE GIFT by Samantha Kane

A novella from one of my favorite authors, The Gift is short and take place in 1817 over a few hours in a day. I didn't like it at all. This is the second novella from Kane that I thought was not to my taste at all. Considering I'm such a big fan of her Brothers In Arms series, the earlier ones anyway as I stopped reading after book 8, I'm pretty confident that her writing style is something that I enjoy. This story left me flat and without any emotion other than - well that was quick.

There's some backstory told as memories of Rhys, Jeremy and Cordelia's past. But Rhys and Jeremy have been gone for a whole year. They've been held prisoners for ransom and developed a sexual relationship during that time. All the while, Cordelia's been at home grieving for both of them as she's been (quite conveniently I might add) in love with them. That basically sets the stage for the guys return and the quick bedroom shenanigans, and when I say quick I mean the same night the guys return Jeremy's so convinced that his wife will be so hot for a menage that he can't help but encourage it that same night. Hogwash!

Rating: D

MY HEART'S DESIRE by Kate Pearce

This is my first story by this author and I thought the better of the two stories. This is a very short read, less than half the pages are dedicated for this story and that's not counting the interviews and promo for other stories. Caroline is a widow who lives with her sister. She's lived there since the passing of her husband but she knows it's times to move out as her sister is a tad bit too stifling and controlling. During a party that her sister should be hosting Caroline is reintroduced to her old friend, Jasper.
