Desire for Three,
By Kelly "Reviewer for The Sinfully Sensuous" (Littleton, Colorado) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Desire for Three [Desire, Oklahoma 1] (Paperback)
Jessica Tyler was a broken woman. She had lived with the cruelty and indifference her husband had inflicted on her for so many years that even after he was gone from her life, she didn't have any feelings left. She was an empty shell of the woman she used to be. When she visited her sister Nat, the change was so obvious, that Nat kept hounding her for the reason behind her transformation. Jesse didn't even know how to begin to explain how her life had gone so wrong.
Clay and Rio Erickson had both been burned by love. They had tried to make a life; be with other women and live apart, but now they knew it was impossible. They were meant to love and be with the same woman forever. They just had to find her. They had been looking for a long time, and when they were getting ready to give up, they were introduced to Nat's sister Jesse. It only took one touch for the brothers to realize that she was meant to be with them. Clay and Rio made no secret of the fact that they intended to claim Jesse. She was incredibly drawn to them, but was afraid of losing herself by loving them. When she agreed to stay with them, she was frightened by the feelings they brought out in her. She had never had this type of extreme response to any other man. Even though they were exploring their relationship in every way, she couldn't help waiting for the other shoe to drop, and for all this to be over. Just as Jesse starts to feel safe at home, the brothers land the harshest blow she has ever received by telling her to move out of their home. They no longer want to have anything to do with her! Things go from bad to worse when Jesse is attacked, and as she fights to save her own life, she wonders if she will ever see the men she loves so desperately again. A good read with plenty of steam and story to satisfy. Jesse is a woman that has never known true love before, and when she is on the receiving end, she is overwhelmed. Clay and Rio have spent years looking for the woman to complete them, and took no prisoners when they set eyes on Jesse. I expect the future installments from Desire, Oklahoma will be just as exciting!!

Small Town Erotic Romance - Desire Oklahoma,
By
This review is from: Desire for Three [Desire, Oklahoma 1] (Siren Publishing Menage Amour) (Kindle Edition)
This is the first in a series I love. Brooke's fictional town of Desire, Ok becomes a character all its own in this series. A great backdrop to a wonderful story. I added this one to my amazon Listmania list about Erotic Romances set in small towns. There's something about erotic romances set in small towns. Perhaps it's the dichotomy of the conservative public appearance and the naughty private reality.

Definitely worth the Kindle download price. I would not pay the print price - it just wasn't that fantastic of a read. It was good, though. It would be nice if this place really existed, just brought down a notch. I liked that it was not a hard core dom/sub story. I have already downloaded the next book in the series and can't wait to read it.

I am a firm believer that you do not have to sacrifice story and writing in erotica romance. "Desire for Three" has a great premise but the delivery was bordering on the unrealistic.
Don't get me wrong...I would LOVE to find a town just like Desire, OK. The whole concept of a town whose men idolized their females, and it was okay to be in alternative relationships openly and be accepted is very provocative. The problem with this book was not in the story, it was in how it was written, and truthfully with Clay and Rio. I found some of the other men more fascinating than these brothers, who seemed more like little kids than grown men. I kept thinking through the whole book it would have been better if they had been younger than Jesse; they certainly acted like it. I don't know if, in further books, Ms. Brooke has her heroes fall victim to the "they're interesting until it's their turn" syndrom, but I am willing to give the next book a try simply because I thought Blade was one of those more interesting characters. The writing really didn't hold my attention. I ended up skipping some of the parts to get to the end, like it was all fluff without substance. The sex was hot and well written, but everything in between was amaturish. I would recommend buying this used to spend a little less money for it. Like I said, I'm going to stick with the series but it's not worth buying brand new.

Dick and Jane Meets Cheesy Porn,

This review is from: Desire for Three [Desire, Oklahoma 1] (Paperback)
A truly stupendously silly book. This was "Dick and Jane" meets cheesy porn. I expect a certain degree of silliness but this book took it to a whole new level.

For the most part I really enjoyed this book. the story line was ok, the sex was super hot, but there was too much of a patronizing air to the hero's. No one tells me I cant change my own damn tire!

Lived up to the hype,

I have come to really enjoy menage romance and this book is one that other folks on Good Reads always recommend to me. I don't know why I took so long to read this one. It's a great book. I love the town, I love the men!!!
I think the other thing that stood out to me is the writer's style. I really enjoyed how she told the story as much as the story itself. I loved the characters and I have already bought the next book in the series.

So, yeah, we all like reading about Alpha males and menage or we wouldn't be here. But this was just annoying. The male characters are completely unlikable. The book starts with three husbands discussing how their wife was spanked for forgetting her phone. So not sexy fun spanking but punishment for behavior outside the bedroom spanking. Which isn't sexy; it's just gross. Then we get long and repetitive discussions about how men handle or take care of "their women" None of it was endearing or sexy just patronizing and creepy. I felt like a 12 year old had read her mom's menage novel then wrote one herself. The dialogue was overly simple and out of touch. What 40 year old woman uses the phrase "clean his clock?" What is she, 82?
Since the fantasy of a menage with a HEA is a little ridiculous the best "town" menage novels have a sense of humor. This one has none. Especially since this was supposed to be a town where the relationships are accepted. If you like that check out Sophie Oak's "Nights in Bliss, Colorado" series.

Menage erotica. Finally, I got my hands on this book. I have read all the others in this series but couldn't get this one. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Nice to know that all women don't have to be twenty in these stories. And the men, mmmm. Worth reading.

With a bad marriage behind Jessie she goes to Desire to visit her sister. Desire is a small town that has their own rules of how things are between men and women. The men are the protectors and the women follow the men's lead. Jessie is very head strong and to her the woman are being abused. A man catches his women changing her own tire she gets spanked. Clay and Rio are trying to claim Jessie for the own and her ex who abused her is on the way. That is the base of the store. Desire was set up about 100 years ago when women had no rights and in Desire if you get caught treating your woman or any woman bad the men take care of it because they can not stand the thought of their women getting hurt. The town was set up to protect women when there where no laws to protect them. Even with myself being a head strong women I found that I loved this book. It was not all about sex or a heman book it had a story line. They even gave the town a past and trust me the women do not roll over and play dead. In some parts I think they where week but it went with the story. I would give this book an A-. I think I would have graded it higher if it was not for the women having to fight for everything they want. Heck they can not even go to the bar. Once again as I said in my first post this is my point of view. I would put this on your kindle it you have one or even buy the book. Happy Reading ;)
