This is the best product for rashes I've ever used. I used it on my kids 39 yrs. ago, Now I use it on my mother ,who has Alzheimers,& is bed ridden. Best medician for Babies or mothers. Think you

My son is now 2 years old, and in his time of using diapers we have sampled several different diaper ointments in search of the one that works best for us. My favorite so far, and the one we have used the most, is Desitin Maximum Strength Original Paste (I usually buy the 16 oz tub for the house, with a smaller tube for the diaper bag), with the other Desitin formulation (in the blue packaging) in 2nd place. This formula is thicker than the blue-packaged one. They have worked very well to prevent diaper rash, or heal it if he does get one.

I do have misgivings about some of the ingredients [BHA (butylated hydroxyanisole), methylparaben, and "fragrance"], based on current concerns over their possible health effects, but I have not yet found another ointment with ingredients I am more comfortable with that works as well for my child. (If you have recommendations, I'm happy to hear them!)

If your baby has a diaper rash or you want to prevent it, then go for this one. Be sure to get the original if your baby has a severe rash because it heals faster than the creamy one.

I use this cream on my now 4 months old daughter, and it is the best to prevent and treat diaper rash because of the zinc oxide content. I tried others when she was a newborn and non worked as well.

Goodness gracious but this stuff stinks to HIGH heaven! I use it as a preventive measurement since my son rarely suffers from diaper rash, but good googly moogly, this stuff smells worse than poop. I mean, you'd think if Johnson & Johnson were going to add a fragrance they might have thought to add one that didn't smell so rancid.

Other than that, I do like the nice thick consistency, but with one drawback: it is so thick that it really adheres to my baby's bottom when I am trying to clean him off and leaves an opaque film behind. In some cases it helps the poop adhere to my son's butt, too!

You get a lot of product with these two jars, but I honestly don't think my nose can tolerate the smell for much longer. If it were easier to clean off, I might reconsider....NAH! No more Desitin for this household.

****I am updating my review because, though stinky, nothing else keeps my six month old son's butt rash-free better than Desitin (including the recommended Butt Paste). The smell is a small price to pay for my son's comfort.

I have tried many diaper rush pastes, but this is the best one.
No matter how severe the situation is - this paste does the trick each time!!!!
This product is real value for money.

Desitin worked great on my daughter's diaper rash. However, the jars I bought on Amazon was not as thick as the jar from Target. There was also some oil separation. Don't know if this affects the efficacy.

This is way cheaper than buying it in tubes[...]. Stuff works wonders too. Rashes start to dissapper within hours. The only thing i dont like is the lack of smell. I made the mistake of buying the original , instead of the scented one. This one smells mediciny. But its ok. Stuff works great and these 2 containers will last me about 1 year.

I haven't had any kind of problem until my daughter turn 9 month old. She develop some rashes in diaper area. So I looked up rash creams. I choose this one. It is much cheaper here. It is like getting one free. So I ordered this one an got it next day. My daughter rashes were after I apply this only 2- 3 times. What a relieve. I love this product very much. Very much recommended.

I don't have any compliant about this product. My baby never got diaper rash.

I prefer it over the local products since this offer 40% strength in zinc dioxide, which is the key to solve this problem. I never used the others since i don't want my baby experiment a pain like a diaper rash.

The package is strong and you can take it to any place without troubles.

If you're looking on saving money, this is the product. You can use ANY diaper from the normals to the cheapest, and the product will protect your baby. Consider don't waste your money in premium diapers, and instead on this product. You can save a lot of money daily, considering the diapers will go to the trash 3 to 4 times a day.

When the baby is born the Jar will last for 1 or 2 months(depends on your use). I use a lot of paste the first months, then decreased the ammount, since the baby changed his habits. So i could live with only 3 jars the first 6 months.

This product smells a bit like fish, but you won't find any trouble with this, considering the benefit to your baby, the love of your life.
