5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!
While I enjoyed their other releases more, "Dr. Freepill" is still a great cd to purchase. Even for the casual fan. There are 2 fantastic covers on this one. "ME262" and "Sheer Heart Attack". The original stuff on here, live versions included, are likeable and playable enough for anyone not familiar with the band. If you are a fan then you should already have this one. If...

3.0 out of 5 stars Last great CD from the unsung heroes of rock n roll
OK, if you're reading this, chances are you know The Strippers. At the very least you know lead guy Rick Sim's former bands The Didjits, The Supersuckers and The Lee Harvey Oswald Band.

If you know and loved the Strippers as I did, then you have to buy this CD. OK so it's pricey, and it's short, and 2 of the songs are live versions of previously released...

OK, if you're reading this, chances are you know The Strippers. At the very least you know lead guy Rick Sim's former bands The Didjits, The Supersuckers and The Lee Harvey Oswald Band.

If you know and loved the Strippers as I did, then you have to buy this CD. OK so it's pricey, and it's short, and 2 of the songs are live versions of previously released songs, but there's still an awesome version of Queen's "Sheer Heart Attack", Rick's ode to The Dickies' "Gigantor, called "Rodan" (Simms' former band The Didgits once covered The Dickies' "Give It Back") and a number of equally great songs.

The Strippers sound is edgy, poppy, full-throttle rock n roll, with nods to everyone from The Stooges to The New York Dolls to Love and Rockets, and just about everything in between. Tighter, louder, faster and better played than most of the Didjits stuff, and more focused than the 1 CD he's on with The Supersuckers (Sacrillicious Sounds). This is the classic, last gasp of one of Chicago's great bands from the 90's.

Not sure where Rick went, though he had a kid on the way when they made this. Mike Hodgkiss went on to join the reunited Urge Overkill.

Buy this CD and hope for Rick's next project soon!
