Product Description

At first glance, you may think this book is mostly about sex. It isn't. It's about all of the crazy things that happen between men and women. Whether you love a man, live with a man or actually are a man, you'll recognize someone you know in these hilariously true stories from award-winning writer and syndicated humor columnist Jackie Papandrew.

Starting with the title story―where Jackie offers timely tips for every man who still doesn’t understand the connection between choreplay and foreplay―to the final tummy-tickling tale about a love story made possible by a couple of wandering pigs, this book should come with a free package of Depends. You might just wet your pants reading it. Other stories include:

High-Maintenance Woman
Did I Shave My Legs For This?
A Man’s Job
Soapy Situation
Pin Something On This Donkey

and many more…

For any woman who feels alone with her ‘Did he just do that?’ thoughts or any man who wants to understand the fairer sex a little better, this quick read is just the ticket. And for anyone who loves to laugh, it’s a real treat.

The Desperate Dad's Guide to Getting Some is a book of short blog-type columns written by Jackie Papandrew. Nicely crafted, and very amusing, she goes smoothly from topic, to topic about what it's like to be married for a few decades. From lines painted in the garage to help parking, to the use of "special soap" the author has a unique, but enjoyable style that kept me reading until I finished the entire book! After finishing each column, I was always ready for more!

While not an extremely long book, at $1.99 I found it to be an exceptional value! Perfect for those times when you need a quick read, it was a great addition to my Kindle collection. Definitely recommended for those who have had a spouse for anywhere between 1 and 100 years, or even those who haven't yet been married. Definitely 5 stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Absolute Must-Read!!, May 18, 2011

Jackie is not only the funniest writer I know; she's also the most insightful, especially when it comes to subjects we all know so well and can relate to big time, like family. It's a broad topic that Jackie nails down beautifully in this book.

I'm trying to say that I believe the reason that she's one of the most notable humor writers of our time is because she has the unique ability to get important, poignant, hard, serious as well as comedic messages about life, through to us, via her use of humor and clever observations.

Check out her Facebook Page (which went viral of course): [...] where she has way over 20,000 people who love her work and you'll see, in one instant, exactly what I mean.

I should simplify my words. You've got to read her book. You will love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed out loud., June 6, 2011

Jackie puts a brilliantly written, comical spin on the reality of marriage. No matter how much we love our spouses there are times when we wish we lived alone. Jackie seems to have mastered this feeling and plods on to honor the vows 'for better or worse' at no cost to her (you can't blame the husband for trying). It should be the how-to manual given out at all weddings. A fun read.
