Erika Edmonds was trying to get through her OB residency and take care of her sick mother. Erika's mother had a disease that usually is diagnosed as Alzheimer's. She decides to put her mother in a 24-hour care facility. Erika doesn't feel comfortable about the decision. A short time later, her mother dies and now Erika only has her aunt Arlene, her mother's sister or so she thinks....

Erika met Dr. Michael Mathis who is a popular pediatric surgeon. Michael is taken by Erika from the first meeting. Erika is so greif stricken after her mother dies, Michael is a good distraction. Michael finds out some important things about Erika's parents. He is told not to tell her and now this secret will jeopardize their love or will it? Why not get the book and find out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet Sexy, June 23, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Desperate Deceptions (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
I highly recommend the reading of this sizzling romance novel. Linda did an excellent job in the story line enlightening us on pernicious anemia. The Dr. Michael Mathis is a caring and loving man along with being a brilliant pediatric surgeon with a love for little people (children). He's the kind of man any woman would pray to have.
Erika Edmonds was a loving and caring person also who had the desire to help everybody but who's passion was seniors who couldn't take care of themselves. She had so much to happen in her life while still a resident doctor and she had a strong guilt for having to place her mother in a home so she could be cared for properly, because of the anemia disorder but through trial and error she learned to accept the things she could not change and move on.
Richard Edmonds finally finds his sister Erika who he had longed to see and he was Michaels best friend and through Michael he got to know and learn his sister and to share his love with her.
This is a great book one of those can't put downs
I hope Linda does a sequel with Richard and Lorraine with Michael and Erika and children as background characters.

From the first chapter you will fall in love with this book. The romance between Erika Edmonds and Dr. Michael Matthews will take your breath away. From the time they first 'run into' each other you will want more. The love scenes alone are enough to die for. If you like your romance nice and intimate, you will not go wrong with this one. This is a definite keeper.
