4.0 out of 5 stars Great movie!, September 16, 1999

This review is from: Desperate Hours [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Mimi Rogers is taken hostage as well as her husband (anthony hopkins) and son and daughter.

This is a riveting movie about how a family deals with the emotions running through them when they are being held hostage.

Definatley one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Definately a strong 4 out of 5.

Sir Anthony Hopkins plays a defense attorney trying to recapture a dissolving marriage. Escaping from court, a career killer, Micky Roarke, takes hostage Hopkins' wife, home, children, and increasingly tries for more. Excellent film on the depths of human spirit. Hope studios re-release!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Rourke and Anthony Hopkins make a great team!, September 14, 2000
Moving action thriller! Michael Bosworth is a seasoned sociopath (Mickey Rourke) who devises an escape using his lawyer (Kelly Lynch). Before authorities can close in, he and his goons (Elias Koteas -Wally and David Morse - Albert) choose a family home to hide out. Only the family is not entirely away.

Anthony Hopkins plays ex-hubby Tim Cornell, a persistant defense attorney, who hopes to win back his wife's affections, Nora Cornell ( Mimi Rogers ). When he visits, he discovers too late that his ex-wife has been entertaining armed keepers. As his family is one by one ensnared, he seeks to unify trust to save their lives. But, he's an ex-husband based on trust issues. Who will Nora trust? The terrifying stranger pledging not to hurt anyone or an ex-hubby adulterer? Terrific, gripping story. Also starring, Shawnee Smith, Danny Gerard, Gerry Bamman, Matt McGrath, John Christopher Jones, Dean Norris, Peter Crombie, and Ellen Parker
