I ordered this book as soon as I found out it was coming out. It is full of interviews and information plus extra goodies for those of us **addicted** to Desperate Housewives. If you love the show this book (and the 1st season DVD) are a must have.
Pour a glass of wine, put up your feet and enjoy!

I found this book very helpful in understanding all what's going on in the series; it is presented in an easy format with lots of attention paid to little details, i can recommend it to all desperate housewives adepts !

If you are a fan of Desperate Houswives, then this is for you. It's choc-full of various bits and pieces all relating to the show.
With chapters such as The Tangled Wisteria Lane, The Housewives, Desperate Husbands, The Houseguests and Episode Guide to name a few, there is something for everyone here of interest. There are great pictures (mostly stills from the show), quotes from various characters and information regarding the way the program is made. There are in-depth interviews with the cast and their profiles and on and on.
I was given this today as a gift and it's so ideal because I'm a fan. So if you are looking for a gift too, or just a treat for yourself, then pick this up because it's very good and there is a lot of fun reading to do.

"Desperate Housewives: Behind Closed Doors" was released back in the fall of 2005 when the show was coming off the high of its blockbuster first year and just beginning its sophomore season.

While the show itself may have deterioriated significantly since then, this book remains as a testatement to its overnight success as a pop-cultural phemonenon.

This is a high-quality product that contains VERY detailed descriptions of every first-season episode, beautifully illustrated with hundreds of high-quality photos.

There are in-depth character profiles of everyone involved.

There are interviews with main and supporting cast members, writers, creators, directors.

We also get to read the first draft of the pilot script that Marc Cherry wrote back in 2002.

There is a chart that simplifies the relationships of each of the players on Wisteria Lane to make things easy for the newbies and is fun to peruse.

If you love "Desperate Housewives" and want a nice piece of memorabilia from the show, aside from the DVD sets, you can't go wrong adding this soft-cover coffee-table book to your collection.

Being a fan of the show since its inception, "Desperate Housewives: Behind Closed Doors" is an amazing book and quite the bargain since I purchased it for only a dollar! As "Desperate Housewives" enters in into its 8th and Final Season, this book is a treasure trove in dwelling into how the ladies of Wisteria Lane began. You get interviews from the show's cast, an episode guide to Season One, how "Desperate Housewives" is written and produced, a first draft of creator Marc Cherry's script of the Pilot, and tidbits of how the show has become a cultural phenomenon in the media. With an astounding plethora of pictures, details, the fashion styles of the ladies, and some cooking recipes here or there, you will LOVE this book!

When i found this book i immediately bought it, because i have been addicted to this tv show from day 1.I knew this was a worldwide sucess but what i didnt know was that people had actually created games, books, and dolls about it, so i was suprised when i found it.I found this book extremely useful.It is very well written and it has many curious topics to read.It has interviews with the actors, a "relationship tree"and scripts.It was delivered in great conditions.I recommend this book to any desperate housewives fan.It is a real treat!

I had only watched DH for a few months when I ordered this book. It's a companion book, kinda like the one created years ago for CSI. It's got a map of Wisteria Lane and where everyone lives, a synopsis of each show and how all the characters are interrelated. I recommend this for anyone that is a fan of the show. The artwork is amazing and the still photos leave you wanting more.

This is a nice book and I enjoyed going through it. There is a great deal of information about the show. My only complaint is that it goes episode by episode through the first season and then stops...... Why aren't there any other books that include stuff from the more recent seasons? Great companion book but I really think more should be made!

This book is filled with gems for fans of the show and trivia collectors, alike. MAD magazine's satire of the show is included along with key pages from the pilot script, even Susan's recipe for her "lousy macaroni caserole" she often burns. It is written in a production prospectus for investors format where positive mini bios are given about every member of the cast and crew. One nit pick: The actress who played Diedre in the season finale episode is left out. She was the key in solving the mystery of Mary Alice's death! Yet another actress who had only two lines in the whole show is profiled, instead.
