Tries too hard,
By Evan the Dweezil (A Place-Sort Of, Montana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Desperate Remedy (Paperback)
This author certainly is proud of her ability to describe the daily minutia of hospital nursing. Because of that, pages of what could have been character or story development goes flying out the door. The characters are pathetic little people who deserve every ounce of pain they bring upon themselves. From Edwina and her horrid pregnancy to the young doc who's snorting coke, the characters are unlikable and unsympathetic. Also, I have to wonder about a hospital that just allows people like Edwina to wander freely, since that has to be a huge liability factor. The pace is super slow. Oh and the millionaire nurses, give me a break. . . I'd like to say I got my $1.00 worth out of this book, but I'll be waiting a long time for my change instead.
