When I left home and married in 1983 I took this book from my mother. It has the best pie recipes in it. When my daughter married this year I wanted to give her a copy. It was printed in 1962 and has long since been out of print. I not only found a copy, but one that was in great shape. Thank you for helping me pass on family favorite recipes without my daughter have to "borrow" my copy from my home.

I bought this Dessert Cookbook 30 yrs ago and it so worn the pages are beginning to crumble.
So decided to try and find another copy. Through a used bookstore, they searched and found the book for me.
I was able to buy it through their used book section.
I want my daughter to know how I enjoyed all the recipes as they were small when I got this book.
I am 78 and this book is like an old friend; and I want my daughter to enjoy this book as I did, and a copy that won't fall
apart in her hands. Smile

Delicious old fashioned cooking. I love this book. I was looking for a specific recipe and this book had it. Delicious pies and cakes from scratch, and sometimes, that's the only way to make things.

This book really stands out to me as one of the best dessert cook books ever for a person who is "not a cook". It is out of print but copies can be found onlne and the recipes come out very well.

If you want to impress your friends and family or you just have a sweet tooth this book is for you. It's old - printed in 1967 - but it's worth keeping. From rice pudding to souffles, cheesecake to candies this book has it all. If you made everything in this book - over 400 recipes - you would be a master at desserts.

One thing I especially like about this cookbook, in addition to the great recipes, is the vintage look of the pages. Desserts are pictured in what I think of as old watercolor illustrations. Very retro looking. Fun to look at and cook with. Over 400 recipes.

I bought this book to replace a very old and soiled copy I had at home and I wanted to replace it with a better copy. I've been using it for forty-five years and love it.
