5.0 out of 5 stars A Fab Read December 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I had never heard of Trent Zelazny until a friend of mine gave me the Kindle version of this book as a gift. I sat down and literally inhaled this story, enjoying the full book in one sitting! Interesting twists and turns, realistic situations and characters with multiple layers create a spell-binding tale of 'what if' combined with the scary realism of 'what the hell!', leaving you catching your breath after you realize you've been holding it in anticipation of just WHAT is going to happen next ??!!

After reading and thoroughly enjoying Destination Unknown, I've definitely been bitten by the Trent Zelazny bug, and since he appears to have an author's page here on Amazon, I think I'll go search for some extra New Year's reading material! The cover for To Sleep Gently has definitely caught my eye, and I think that's going to be next on my Trent Zelazny TO READ list!

A universally appealing story, I think Destination Unknown is destined for greatness, just like this talented new author, Trent Zelazny.

WOW - I just saw the regular price for this book.. holy cow! Publisher please, LOWER THE PRICE!! It is ATROCIOUSLY HIGH!! :(

5.0 out of 5 stars A Solid Read December 7, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Destination Unknown is the latest release from Trent Zelazny, even though it's not his most recently written story, since sadly Destination Unknown was left gathering dust on the publisher's bookshelf for the last two years!

Well I say Shame on you Mr Publisher for making us all wait for this excellent story!!

As well as Thanks for finally releasing it!! ;)

But seriously.. did you have to price it so ATROCIOUSLY HIGH??? Give the book a fair chance will you and LOWER THE PRICE so more people can afford to enjoy it !!!!!!

Destination Unknown is a great read. The characters are interesting and likeable, the situation is one I've personally contemplated in the past, wondering what I'd do given the same circumstances; well, at least similar ones, so that also added a little extra pizazz to the story for me.

Well written with a strong plot, Destination Unknown is yet another example of Zelazny's diverse skill and natural talent at bringing a story and all its characters and elements to life. The words and pages flowed so easily that before I knew it the story was over!! A full-length novel, I was left very satisfied with what I'd just read and enjoyed in Destination Unknown, but I'm also hungry for more stories from this excellent author!

5 stars and definitely recommended for a good solid entertaining read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Pulls you in and keeps you there January 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
First I want to say I don't usually review novels, and I wasn't requested to review Destination Unknown. I purchased this novel on a whim. I read the reviews a I must say I was intrigued. I usually don't read this genre and I really didn't know what to expect when I began reading Destination Unknown. I opened the book (kindle edition) as soon as it was downloaded. I could not put this gem down! The author Trent Zelazny pulled me in from the first page and continued his relentless hold he had on me.

The main characters of the novel (Brian and Kate) are in the midst of a rocky marriage when the story opens. First let me say I felt Brian's pain every step of the way. The author's vivid descriptions of the turmoil in his life almost made me wish I could help him in some way. Kate on the other hand, the author painted a picture of an individual I wanted to slap...the reason being was she was so willing to point out the problems with her husband (as most people can see fault in others), she refused to see the problems with herself (if that is true to life I don't know what is). This novel is far from being a story about a rock marriage, it is about two people trying to cope with a psychotic man that wants his property returned. Throughout this novel you're pulled into the main character's terrifying journey of what the hell do we do now, and how are we going to get out of this situation. You also follow them through their journey as they go from a bickering couple to joining together and finding the strength they need to save the life of the spouse they love.

I highly recommend this novel to all readers no matter what your usual genre maybe.

Thank you Trent Zelazny for a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Please, sir, may I have another? May 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've read most of Zelazny's work, and along with To Sleep Gently, this is one of my new favorites. Again, in Destination Unknown, Zelazny really puts the screws to his characters, and I relish that in a suspense tale. Just when you think you know where the story's going, -- blammo! -- you're off in a different direction and, by the end, careening downhill with no brakes. (I should warn you that I had to stop reading this one late at night because it was jacking my adrenaline and I couldn't get to sleep.)

The characters are deep as they are wounded. Brian and Kate tragically lost a son and think they've received a boon when they come across some money. A lot of money. But the owner wants it back, and will do anything to get it.

Destination Unknown will keep you guessing to the end, and wincing at every development along the way. Classic TZ with an 80s music soundtrack. Loved every freaking page. Please write another.
