You don't have be to engaged or planning a wedding to enjoy this book! I recently picked up a copy to gift an engaged friend who is thinking of traveling for her wedding and was truly impressed with the ideas and helpful hints in this book. Useful planners are truly hard to come by and this one is a must have for all brides. The planner starts with a quiz to help the bride decide what type of wedding is the best fit for her personality- although I am not in the planning process, it was fun to determine that I'm a destination wedding girl at heart.

The book is also filled with useful information applicable to all weddings such as how to set a budget, a list of standard expenses, how to craft the guest list, important questions to ask vendors, wedding etiquette questions and so on. There are useful tools such as a wedding count down timeline and a gift log so the bride can keep track of everything in one place. Most of all this planer offers a peace of mind- if you read this book it will help answer so many questions and keep you on track with everything you need to do or delegate!

I also like how the book offers a list of wedding resources, unique ideas, fun websites and beautiful images from weddings the author has planned.

I used to give a kate spade calendar to my engaged friends to help map out their wedding planning but the paper quality and images used in this book are far superior quality! This is my new "go-to" present for all friends who are getting married. I highly recommend it!

I brought this book with me to Jamaica for my site visit, and it was SO incredibly helpful. It is detailed, reminded me of all the questions I couldn't forget and gives helpful tips along the way. This is the only book I need. amazing!

a planner should keep track of everything imaginable AND be super easy to navigate (very important when you find yourself going back to the best parts -- and in this case, again and AGAIN!)

*bonus* when the pockets keep you organized with the odds and ends you gather along the way, space to sketch/paste ideas for dresses, hair, etc. is included, and *icing on the cake* when it somehow inspires you every single time you flip through!

love the checklists and tips (list of things to *delegate*? hello?!!). love that it's scalable and appropriate whether you've having an all-out To Do, or the most intimitate gathering. love alison's laid back style -- spot-on for the chill destination wedding we all dream about. LOVE this planner!!!

This guide is AWESOME. I've been searching blogs and websites for almost a year planning our destination wedding, so I'd say I already know a good amount of information. However, this book definitely touches on EVERYTHING, including new things that you don't think about or hear about online. It's seriously great and I recommend it to anyone having a destination wedding. She has thought of it all and is honest about some challenging realities. Sections I have found most helpful: things to remember when thinking about venues, all the different check lists (welcome bag ideas, make up and beauty check lists, packing tips), a section to write down the gifts you want/plan to buy essential wedding attendees (parents, wedding party), and... there's even a section to plan out all the outfits you need for your entire "destination" trip!! It's also adorable and has lots of pockets for you to tuck your contracts and magazine pics ;) Thank you to the woman who created this.

I bought this for one of my best friends who did not know where to start. All she had was her date set and her location. I gave this to her for Christmas ans she was so happy. She never saw anything like it before. I quickly went through it before I gave it to her and it really is a good book for a destination wedding. I would say that the only thing it is missing is some folder space to put some clippings (for center-piece ideas etc...). It would also be better if it was a 3 ring binder so you could add some folders but Im not complaining. It really is a great book. The fact that it is specified for destination is excellent. I would recommend this to anyone that is having a destination wedding. It has etiquette in there along with some ideas in there. This is by far the best book I have seen out there yet.

Overall I like how this planner is set up, but I feel like it's missing something. It is well organized, however, it seems to only cover generalities for planning a destination wedding. I wish it provided more detailed To-Do lists, worksheets, etc. Also, it focuses heavily on doing "site visits." I personally do not have the time or money to be visiting my destination wedding site up to 2 times before my wedding. For brides that do plan to do "site visits" this section could be very helpful. I did enjoy the quiz at the beginning.

This wedding planner is pretty cool, and would probably work for planning local weddings as well. It separates the planning process into logical steps that you can attack 1 by 1. Each section has places to take notes, store brochures and other information, and suggestions about how to organize the information you gather during the process. This is a cool book that is worth the investment to help plan a wedding from out of town or country.
