What's so astonishing about this recording is the emotional range of this fine trio......this is what God intended for Piano Trio Music to sound like.....easily one of the finest piano trio recordings in history.

It's astonishing to me that this CD has no reviews yet. This is jazz piano and jazz trio
music of the highest order. Tamir is simply a whirlwind of creativity and an extraordinary arranger. If you love fresh jazz, don't miss this recording.

Tamir Hendelman is a brilliant pianist, composer, arranger -- simply the best thing that has happened to jazz piano in a long while. Marco Panascia on bass and Lewis Nash on drums are equally sublime in making this a true jazz trio in every sense of the word. Hendelman's previous recording "Playground" as well as his contributions to the Jeff Hamilton Trio make him, in my eyes, a star of the highest order.

I'm becoming a real Tamir Hendelman fan! I saw him recently in a live performance with the Jeff Hamilton Trio in Charleston, Illinois and he, and the trio, were magnificent! So, I went to Amazon and bought Jeff Hamilton Trio CDs and this Tamir Hendelman CD and a recent Barbra Streisand CD on which Jeff Hamilton and Tamir Hendelman accompany her and Diana Krall. Since this review is of this particular "Destinations" CD and Tamir Hendelman without the Jeff Hamilton Trio, I will try to focus on that. Well,he is still magnificent! The musicianship of his performances seems to be flawless, tour de force quality all the time, whether it's a light lyrical touch or an exuberant, energetic style - he is master of it all. Being a long-time lover of great piano jazz (Bill Evans, Ahmad Jamal, Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, et al.), it is a great joy to me that a young man seems to bring the marvelous spirit of great piano jazz, the astonishing deft hands to the piano, and the excellent taste and musical joy that keeps this music not only alive but vibrant and vital and fresh. Great CD. Great musician!
