Book Description

Love conquers all . . . but can it stop the Apocalypse?

Mira Herald is having the worst life ever. Not only is she plagued by horrific nightmares starring the Devil himself, she’s now the target of a power-hungry, rogue minion, freshly sprung from Hell and bent on her destruction. To complicate matters further, she’s acquired a stalker. One who insists he’s a divine warrior sent for her protection because she houses an ancient relic with the power to unleash Armageddon. Last time Mira checked, she wasn’t insane. Still, all this celestial mayhem is enough to drive a girl crazy.

Kagan is a member of the Scion, an elite team of immortal warriors selected by Divinity to aid mankind and save the world. After a century alone, Kagan is summoned for a new mission. He’s eager to begin. Eager until he’s informed his mission consists of protecting a woman with no clue to the power she wields. Plus, his briefing fails to prepare him for his new target’s cosmic-sized attitude problem. As Divinity’s sworn servant, he’s required to fulfill his duty. His oath, however, does not require him to be enthusiastic about his new assignment or warm-and-fuzzy toward his new compatriot. He plans a wham-bam rescue and a quick return to solitude.

The minion attacks - with the backing of a mysterious organization - and all Hades erupts, putting a fast end to any whirlwind escapes. Accustomed to staunch independence, Mira’s survival now requires full cooperation and an unwavering belief in Kagan. The battle-hardened warrior is also forced to chose: between duty and desire. Amidst the turmoil, Kagan and Mira’s undeniable passion draws them closer to each other and down a path neither expected but both yearn for, more than they ever knew.

Will love save the day? The world’s fate depends on the answer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great first book for the series January 21, 2013
By Heather
Format:Kindle Edition
Seal of Destiny is a fast-paced, action packed read that kept me flipping pages far too late at night! Not only is Mira sexy, sassy, and tough, she's also the bearer of the seal that has the power to set the apocalypse in motion. Kagan is all alpha, sexy as sin and a warrior who will do whatever it takes to keep his girl safe. *Happy sigh.* The story was complex with a cast of interesting secondary characters who I'm really looking forward to reading more about in future books. There better be future books!

With a clever premise, distinct and unique characters, a strong and determined heroine, cursed immortal warriors and minions popping up everywhere, this is a super start to a series. Character introductions are distinct and well crafted, although the most energy is spent with the backstory for both Mira and Kagan, it was interesting to see a preview of the characters that I expect will be more prominent in future releases.

The interplay with Mira and Kagan, with the snarky remarks, the two butting heads and even Kagan's frequent injections of Italian as he expressed his displeasure: this taste of different did help to mitigate the oft-overused epithets by many of the other secondary characters. While the story works on multiple levels, providing romance, action, humor and even some steamy sex, it doesn't read as a typical "any genre" story, but melds all of the elements into a cohesive and quick reading whole.

Traci Douglass manages to pair characters that are polar opposites, and maintain an interaction that is both realistic and wholly amusing to read, as they learn to accept and cooperate (mostly) to achieve the end result they both seek. This was a clever read that leads well into the next book, with something for everyone.

I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of honest review for the Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seal of Destiny February 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
A different type of paranormal romance that's packed full of action, excitement, romance and kick butt characters that any fan of the genre will surely enjoy :)

I admire Mira. She has had a very hard life, filled with trauma and has built a brutal wall around her being (and heart) to help her stay safe in all ways possible. She has one friend and only one (named Zoe). Besides her wall and her one friend, she has made sure she learned how to defend herself from any that may try to harm her or any she cares about. One night while she's working and meets an arrogant male named Kagan, she feels things, strange things. That she DOES NOT want to explore!

Kagan has a tortured past, a past that haunts him and not many are aware of. He has lived for centuries as a warrior along with a handful of others. All warriors of his ilk are cursed to never know or find their mate, to truly love or to have a family. When he finds himself drawn in inappropriate ways to his new assignment, he's confused and finds it very difficult to ignore the strength and beauty of the female warrior before him. He does know he will do anything in his power to protect her.

These two have a lot more in common than they realize. Even though at different times, and very different situations. They both carry deep hurt and they can each help to heal the other. I just LOVE when fate puts two people together and they end up with no control over the love that blooms. I hope the author is planning on a series for this group of warriors. I find them all very... intriguing ;)

Ok, I was not exactly sure what to expect from this book, but was pleasantly surprised that I loved it. I warn you, it is very much an adult book, has explicit sex scenes in it, which I was not expecting, but it was tastefully done, and was not the focus of the story, which is good, in my opinion anyway.

There is plenty of excitement and twist in this story. It was really well written too. I found I really liked Kagan, and did like Mira too. I was a little uncomfortable when it was revealed about the abuse when she was a young girl, stuff like that just gets to me, for personal reasons. I was able to relate to her for sure, and found her to be strong. I was hoping she would overcome the scars of her past, so she and Kagan could be together.
I will say, I actually really liked her friend Zoe, and really wish to know more about her, and Xander too. Hope the next book may feature them as the main characters. They were very interesting to me.

I highly recommend this book, to all paranormal romance lovers out there. It's for sure on the different side, not the same old thing. I really enjoyed it. I see a great start to a new series.

5 out of 5 stars.

I received this book from the author for my honest review.

Check out the book tour, at my blog, I have a great character interview there, and an excerpt. Link is in my profile.

5.0 out of 5 stars Seal of Destiny by Traci Douglass (Seven Seals #1) April 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Seal of Destiny is an action-packed, impending Apocalypse story that introduces us to Mira and Kagan. Mira life sucks, her nights consists of nightmares, she has a stalker, oh and did I mention the minion from hell that wants to kill her? In waltz Kagan, her reluctant protector, who likes to say his dirty words in Italian, which he seems to use a lot around her. Kagan was sent to protect Mira and keep the world from being tossed into Armageddon. Mira and Kagan are constantly yelling at each other and fighting like cats and dogs, but under all of that is a passion that would scorch even the sun. Both try to deny it, but each cannot seem to stop the flames from burning brighter and stronger. Love, Minions, and the end of the world? Who could ask for more?

Traci Douglass has an expert hand at writing about fiery couples that are complete opposites. They chemistry between Mira and Kagan is so strong, so poignant, that smokes seems to be furling from the pages. The snarky comments and killer comebacks (even if they are in Italian) make for off the wall humor and interesting foreign vocabulary lessons! Add in a dash of evil villains of the very first dynasty, their minions, and a huge dose of Armageddon and you have yourself a very entertaining story and the start of a very promising new series!

I recieved a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
