Good Debut from Devine - 3.5 stars,

This review is from: Destiny Hope Faith Divine (Paperback)
There were a few things that made this a good read for me. At 175 pages, it's a small book; however, Deaubrey Devine tells the story he needed to tell and packs a lot of drama in a short space. Having said that, I would have liked to have seen just a bit more character development in terms of motivation and thoughts. I also liked the main character; he's flawed, which makes him very real to me. At times, I couldn't stand him, but there was something about him that wanted to be good, I think, and that made me want to see him through the journey of the book. Another thing I liked was the ending, and for that, you'll have to read the book to understand. Very interested in seeing what Devine pens next.

( 3.5 stars) A Fast-Paced Novel That's Full Of Humor!,
This review is from: Destiny Hope Faith Divine (Paperback)
Divine is a sexy, single man that loves to have a good time, especially with women. He gets a little more than he bargains for when he meets a businesswoman named Faith while on vacation. Divine is just interested in a one night stand, but Faith wants more. Unbeknownst to Divine, Faith has her own psychotic issues that need to be addressed. Meanwhile, Divine meets another woman named Destiny. Destiny is everything that Divine wants in a wife, but her questionable behavior is making him have second thoughts. To further confuse things, Divine's old high school sweetheart Hope comes back into the picture with some relationship problems of her own. Hope and Divine begin to offer emotional support to each other, but will it turn into something more?
Destiny, Hope, Faith, Divine is a thought-provoking novel by Deaubrey Devine. Devine brought us an interesting look into the life of a single black man. You will see that there are two sides to Devine. He wants to someday find his soul mate; but on the other hand, he wants to keep his options open. You will see the growth in Devine as he gets closer to finding the woman of his dreams. Readers will also be shocked at some of the actions of Faith. Destiny, Hope, Faith, Divine is a fast-paced novel that is full of humor. Reviewed by Radiah Hubbert for Urban Reviews

Urban Fatal Attraction,
By Kisha Green "Writer's Vibe" (New Jersey) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Destiny Hope Faith Divine (Paperback)
In the novel Destiny Hope Faith Divine readers will be introduced to main character Divine who is the player of all players- who pretty much has a good job, car and a roof over his head. Divine is pretty much living the good life in Atlanta until one weekend on a cruise with his cousin he meets Faith and from that day things are never the same for Divine or anyone in his life.
Destiny Hope Faith Divine will have readers anticipating the next move because of the author's clever ability to make his storyline relatable but also with his characters as well. Each person you wanted to get to know because they all had a story to tell. Divine truly wants a simple life but that comes at a very high price for him since his encounter with the mentally and emotionally unstable Faith. This novel was truly an urban tale of fatal attraction minus the dead rabbit. Readers will find the sex scenes steamy as well as the drama that is truly off the wall. Between his hopeful thoughts of working on forever with Destiny, once he finds the Lord and truly wants to do right by a lady but while unbeknownst to him that he still has feelings for his former high school sweetheart Hope. Destiny Hope Faith Divine was truly an entertaining emotional roller coaster of a book but author Deaubrey Devine did not disappoint with his debut. This is truly one of those books that will have people talking. This was a great literary job well done!

DSE Reviewer,
This review is from: Destiny Hope Faith Divine (Paperback)
This book takes on the life of Divine as he searches for himself seemingly through the many sexual relationships he has with various women, until he ventures into church one day and takes on a new life.
Though he is now trying to live the life of a saved man his past wont let go and his current love interest, a godly woman, has changed due to the bad advice she's getting from a supposed to be friend... Divines Past, present and future keep him on his toes, as he tries to remain faithful and strong in with the one he gave his heart and name to... but in the end when he all reaches its peaceful ending the story begins again... This book keep my interest my only problem with it was when divine turned his life over to God he seemed to become punkish, and took abuse from his wife no man saved or otherwise would with a "lets just pray about it " attitude. And after joining the church and looking for a Godly woman the woman and he, make out in the church parking lot and have sex on her first visit to his home. Crazy and Deranged,

This is an action packed nonstop drama. While at times the story seemed way over the top, I have to admit worked well for the story. Although I was asking myself how the author dreamed that up because I really couldn't see a lot of things happening... case in point the scene where Faith broke into Divine house, I won't spoil the scene for you just giving an example.
Divine, a self proclaimed player meets Faith while on vacation and what was supposed to be a one night stand lingers on as Faith has set her sights on Divine. Faith is so smooth Divine doesn't know what hits him. While realizing he made a mistake continuing to deal with Faith he tries to move on with Destiny. Divine pours his heart into Destiny only to find she is flawed also and with Faith still being a thorn he has a lot of decisions to make. Will he continue to stay with Destiny? Will Faith break up the happy couple? Hope is a blast from the past. A chance meeting brings these two together again and adds another dynamic complication to Divine's already jumbled life. While Hope is in a relationship and lives in another state that doesn't stop the attraction these two still have for one another. You're going to have to tune in to see who ends up with the popular Divine. Author Deaubrey has some imagination. This book kept me entertained and I look forward to seeing how he grows in the near future. I will be on the lookout for his next novel. SiStar Tea ARC Book Club Inc. 4 star rating

This book would not let me put it down. It kept my attention the whole time. A friend of mine gave it to me and from the moment she did I could not let it out of my sight. I ordered a copy for my husband and friends and demanded they read it right away. They all came back with the WOW! Are there more by this author? Hope he is working on his next book now. I can't wait.

Relatable,
By OOSA Online Book Club "O.O.S.A. Gets It Read!" (World Wide Web, USA) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE)

Divine is a player. He is caught up in a complex relationship with three women: Destiny, Hope and Faith. If juggling more than one woman is not enough, try juggling three women with issues.
"Destiny Hope Faith Divine" does a good job in the beginning showing how Divine and his fast and loose lifestyle leads to some serious life altering consequences. However, the book falls short midway through when the author tries too hard to turn the main character into a church going, God fearing Christian. There is also a sex scene in the book that is too unrealistic for anyone to believe. I would give this book 4 out of 5 stars because the character and his circle of friends are relatable. Also, just about every man who reads this book will be able to identify with this guy on some level, whether it's his relationship with women, his financial difficulties or his struggle to do the right thing. Overall, "Destiny Hope Faith Divine" was an enjoyable read. Reviewed by: Jermaine
