"A Destiny of Fools" is a harrowing tale of what could well happen to human civilzation if we continue on our current path of technology-before-rational-thought. A post-apocalypic tale much in the vein of something Margaret Atwood might write, Mr. Fulsang's novel posits the question--does the end justify the means--on a large scale concerning the very survival of the human race. The story is fast-paced and chock full of surprises and hair-raising moments. It's a thrilling read, but also contains moments of literary thoutghfulness. A stellar blend of mystery, suspense and literary fiction.

As a love of science fiction, I heartily endorse Ejner Fulsang's Destiny of Fools. Set in 2085 AD, it depicts a world in which the human population has been drastically shrunk by a sterility pandemic. The inevitable struggle to save the species is afforded a new twist: the pandemic, which is Apocalyptic in scale, often strikes the reader as Divine justice and not to be tampered with. Destiny of Fools is told in a taunt gritty prose--not for the squeamish or faint-of-heart. But for those inclined to ponder the human comedy, it is a must read.

This book, through the little known publisher, Arhus, is quite a find.

Ejner Fulsang has a tight and noir-like style that both captivates and surprises. The future-setting and the condition of human-infrastructure will also give readers reason to consider our current trajectory. Fulsang illustrates this by showing us both the flooded, abandoned, and collapsing NY subway system, and the diminishing human population suffering from a fertility famine, struggling to reproduce and yet - as blood-thirsty as ever for a public execution.

This is one of those books that keeps you up past your bedtime, and I can't wait to uncover more Fulsang writing.
