I must admit I am not an avid reader of novels and it has been some years since I read a novel but after reading A Destiny Foretold I realized how sad it must be for those who, like me, have been depriving themselves all these years of good reading by focusing solely on audio and visual media.

I started reading this book more out of curosity and soon became totally engrossed in the story when the author started creating vivid mental images of the events with every sentence I read. I found myself anxiously awaiting the next free hour I could find to get back to reading the next chapter. The last 100+ pages were the hardest to resist - so much so that I gave up all free time to find out what Antonio was going to encounter in the next chapter and where this story was going to end. I was not the least bit disappointed and would certainly read this author's next book. I just hope he does not wait another 60 years to publish his next one.

This book peaked my interest in the Mexican Revolution of 1910 and the resistance forces. The characterization of the youthful Antonio captured my interest immediately as it became difficult to set the book aside. The author best describes Antonio as having a novel yet dangerous life as he dreamed, floated and glided effortlessly in void. A Destiny Foretold is rich in words and their description presents such a vivid visual of the times and places that influenced Antonio's life.
