Create Your Legend
Personalize and upgrade every aspect of how you look and fight with a nearly limitless combination of armor, weapons, and visual customizations. Take your upgraded character into every mode, including campaign, cooperative, social, public, and competitive multiplayer.

Master of the Frontier - Quick on the trigger and deadly with a blade, Hunters stalk battlefields as if they were hunting prey. Cunning and ruthless, they prize the undiscovered and prepare for the unexpected, channeling their powers by intuition and gut instinct.

Armored Engine of War - Their lightning-charged fists will knock you off your feet. Their armor and shields make them nearly invincible. We like to think they are our faceless knights, protecting us from our countless enemies. But their power and resolve gives them the air of rising Gods.

Wielder of Arcane Power - They've found a way to weaponize their curiosity, harnessing the Traveler's light in patterns never before imagined. Warlocks are not passive scholars of the unknown. These are mystic warriors, capable of incredible acts of devastation.

Competitive Multiplayer - Enter the Crucible to hone your competitive skills against other Guardians in arenas that span the solar system. Victory will earn you rewards and reputation.

On-Demand Adventure - Revisit the worlds you have discovered to aid the City in their exploration efforts, seek out valuable resources in order to upgrade your weapons and gear, and link up with other brave Guardians roaming the frontier in search of action and adventure.

Epic Campaign - Destiny features a rich, cinematic story, centered on your quest to discover and explore the remains of humanity's Golden Age. As a Guardian, you must venture beyond our walls, into a wild and dangerous frontier, and take the fight to ancient evil forces hell bent on our destruction.

Cooperative Multiplayer - Form a Fireteam, three Guardians strong. Infiltrate an enemy stronghold, cutting through wave after wave of enemy ranks emboldened by their fierce, battle-hardened leaders. Confront an enemy worthy of only the bravest Guardians.

Third Person Social Space - Home of the Guardians, the Tower is a third person social hub where you can regroup, rearm, and form new alliances before venturing beyond the safety of the City's walls.

Our home. After the Darkness swept over us, we found the Traveler where it made its last stand. Beneath, we built The City – our last – within its protective aura. From here, Guardians stand watch, defend our civilization, and strike out into the wild frontiers of Earth – and beyond – to reclaim our lost worlds.

What little we know of Mars may as well be a myth. We built a massive metropolis in the red dust. The Darkness swept nearly all of it away; the sand itself claimed the rest. No one knows what remains of our lost age, now buried beneath the dunes.

Like Earth, the ruins of humanity's former glory can be found scattered across the familiar lunar surface. Recent exploration attempts have been repulsed, reporting increased enemy activity, and even strange tectonic phenomenon. The City has since classified the Moon as a "Forbidden Zone," open only to our most brave and experienced Guardians.

Venus was once the site of great discovery – a paradise. Now, it is a monument to all that we have lost. The old stories say we built an academy dedicated to learning and research on the shore of a wondrous sea, and that the waters themselves boiled and rose up to shatter the coast, washing away all that we had built.

Few Guardians have faced Cabal and lived to tell the tale. They are a professional military operation. On every front we have found them on the march, they have already dug in and ringed their installations with razor wire. Now, it seems they've turned their eyes towards us.

Fallen are hardy creatures who can survive in a wide range of environments without heavy armor or complex modifications to their physiology. They travel light, hit hard, and are gone before you know it. Fallen may look like mere scavengers, but on closer inspection you will see hints of a splendid, sophisticated past, and the proud markings of their ancestral "Houses."

Hive manipulate the physical world in ways that we can only begin to imagine. The Hive have carved a kingdom deep into the lifeless core of the Moon, and it is there they remain, silent and buried among many dark and terrible secrets, a reminder of the tremendous power that brought forth the Collapse.

Scattered reports indicate that the Vex appear to be mass-produced machine units, constructed of an unknown metal alloy resembling hammered brass. All attempts to communicate with them have failed. They are hostile. They are unrelenting. They are deadly.

RPG/FPS titles are all I play. This review will therefore be based on my experiences with other franchises like Skyrim, Last Of Us, Far Cry, Borderlands, etc. After ~25 hours of gameplay, I give you the good: the environments and characters are gorgeous. I'm sure they're even prettier on a PS4, but not everyone's wife will let them get a PS4. :p The environments are vast and clearly every inch was crafted with care. The bad guys are equally well-wrought. When you shoot them, depending on where and with what weapon, they react incredibly realistically (I'm really guessing here as I have no experience with how a real person reacts when you shoot then with a fusion rifle.) The enemy AI is the best I've ever seen. Even the Vex, with their slow, robotic marching, don't just come straight at you all the time. They won't let you pick them off so easily with a sniper rifle. They'll hide behind cover until you're in range of their weapons. They'll side-step your shots, run around the other side of a rock to try to melee you, or teleport to a better position from which to shoot you. You must be clever and outwit them, not just mow 'em down with a full-auto lead salad. Sadly, that is where the good of this game ends.

Failure #1: The story is almost nonexistent. OK, there's a story, but you are never more immersed than on a tertiary level. I never really felt "invested," despite the pretty cinematics and celebrity voice-actors. OK, the fate of the entire solar system is at stake and absolute evil is on the march. Meh. More specifically, every mission feels the same. Your "Ghost," a flashdrive with slightly less personality than the car on Knight Rider, tells you where to go.

I've been playing this game for a while now and am pretty disappointed at all of the hype that was generated by this game. It's not so much that this is a bad game by any means, but rather that it's not the type of "Giant open-world MMORPG" or anything else that it's been promoted as. At best, this game is a 1-3 player co-op shooter game with optional deathmatch mode. There is no communication between players, very little secret content, small levels, little equipment / loot, next to no story, very unimaginative characters / plot / weapons and very linear character customization. RPGs and Shooters are about the only 2 types of games I play and in no way will this game make any RPG player happy. For a game with a supposed $500 million dollar budget, I can't help but wonder where that money went, because it definitely didn't end up in this game.

The lack of day 1 reviews on this game I believe have nothing to do with the fact that this game is so huge (it isn't) or that you need players for it to work (you don't) but rather that the developers know this game is going to get hammered in the ratings and want their pre-orders filled first before people flock to gamestop to drop their copy off for $5-$10. I could literally give you 10 more paragraphs on why this game disappointed me and doesn't live up to a single word it has been promoted with but hopefully you'll take my word for it instead of wasting $60 on a mediocre game that belongs in the bargain bin.

Normally I wouldn't write a review for games but destiny was so bad I didn't want other people wasting their hard earned cash

Not everybody knows that:
You cannot play this offline
You need a constant connection to the destiny servers which is very unreliable get ready for your game to be interrupted even with a good connection.
You need to reach level 5 before you can do multiplayer.
This is not a proper mmo like eve online
Despite all the hype prepares to be underwhelmed both by the lack of depth of the story or any real action do not believe the trailers.

This is not open world or sandbox there's nothing to explore you go on these dull missions kill someone then go back to the tower.
The enemy just spawn in the same place.
Also the story ends at the introduction and only gets mentioned every now and again

I really wanted this to be good but alas it's just not worth your time an empty lonely game experience with a story that could have been amazing. If you're a story driven person I'm afraid like many online only games the main story just becomes a back story it's so sad.

Also if you're not into level grinding then you may want to give this a miss as the enemy have main spawn points which they don't go out of and not long after killing all the enemy they will spawn back again.
The a.i's are not as intelligent as those used in say killzone or halo (throw a grenade at an elite he will try and commando roll out of the way not stand there like a moron)all in all they enemy are not fun to fight but pretty boring. The only interesting action comes from multiplayer but with that many better multiplayers' out there and more coming out again you'd better spend your money elsewhere.

Being a college student, I really don't have a lot of money to spend on my gaming hobby. However, I didn't want to miss the day one experience for one of the biggest games of the year. I've been saving money for quite awhile so that I can be able to purchase a PS4, but I knew the PS3 version would suffice until I could finally get together enough cash to upgrade.

At first, I had my doubts about purchasing this day one, because I knew I would be paying exactly the same amount ($60) for a worse version (at least graphically) of the game. There were even more factors raising my skepticism. This was my very first Bungie game. I've been a PlayStation lifer ever since my dad bought me a PS2 that could play burned discs when he came back from Iraq. There have also been some pretty horrible PS3 ports of some major games (see: Skyrim). I finally decided to make the jump when I got a fantastic deal from Target, allowing me to get the game for only $30.

I start playing, and lo and behold, everything feels exactly the same as if it was on the current gen PS4/XBO consoles! The screen is a little blurrier due to decreased resolution, and the graphical effects and textures are a little toned down, but the framerate is a solid 30FPS and I didn't feel at a noticeable disadvantage due to normally playing FPS games on my PS3. I have to tip my hat to Bungie, who did a great job with their first PS3 port. All that money from Activision was put to good use, and it shows.

To sweeten the deal, players who are playing on the last-gen consoles (PS3 and 360) who buy the game digitally, will also get the next-gen version for absolutely free for a limited time.
