This review is from: Destiny (Paperback)
Destiny begins with Teresa trying to get away from something bad that's happened. As she drives to her mother's house, she remembers how she got to this point. Teresa and Delvin have been dating for years but Teresa needs excitement in her life. When she starts seeking a thrill, Teresa goes for it full force. Not long after, Teresa begins stripping and enjoying every minute of stripping in Georgia. She still wants to make things work with Delvin but both of them want to have their cake and eat it too. Needing a break from Delvin, Teresa heads to Florida.
While in Florida, Teresa really perfects her skills as a stripper using the name Sensation. Over time she darts in places all over Florida and Georgia having the time of her life. In the stripping clubs of Florida and Georgia, Teresa sees all kinds of things. Drugs, money, sex and violence are all around her. Being the money hungry person she is, Teresa starts to sale drugs but that doesn't last for long cause she gets kicked out of the stripping club. Teresa heads to her mother's house, needing some time to think about life, it's there that she meets Calvin. But what about Delvin? She still wants him, even though he's cheated on her.
Destiny starts off fast-paced with an action-thriller feel to the story. Title character Teresa is a confused soul on the run from something. As the story goes on, readers see that Teresa thinks she knows what she wants but something almost always comes along and steers her away in the wrong direction. The events in this story will definitely keep readers turning page after page to see what Teresa will get into next. The title fits this story to the letter. Destiny is full of so many great laughs that readers will wake up from reading the story with sore stomachs. This story is full of money, drugs, sex, and violence a combination for a wonderful read. With Destiny's jaw-dropping ending, readers will be left wanting more stories from Tangelika Virginia Bolen. Always remember be careful of what you ask for, you might just get it!

One of the best books I've read!!!!!!!!!, September 29, 2005
This review is from: Destiny (Paperback)
OK...that was one of the best books I have read. I enjoyed it so much. It is a definite page-turner and I could not put it down. Whether there is or isn't a sequel, you have a fan. Please let me know when the next book will be out. I loved it all from beginning to end. I say that because your novel has so many interesting points, the entire novel was my favorite. I love your writing style...it just flows. Things and situations come full circle. . .You brought the elements of friendships, family support, lying, deceit, alcoholism, drugs and religion together to make for great topics of discussion. No matter what issue you take from Teresa's life there was always something else. Girl, she reminded me of few females that I know. The bottom line is that she understood that her life and situations came full circle and that what goes around will come back around. Although she was tripping on the way it went down...she excepted fate and understood destiny! The ending was fabulous and should not have ended any other way! It just showed me that we should put more faith in the Lord and not anything and anyone else. Patience truly is a virtue!! Great Job!
