Destiny begins with Teresa trying to get away from something bad that's happened. As she drives to her mother's house, she remembers how she got to this point. Teresa and Delvin have been dating for years but Teresa needs excitement in her life. When she starts seeking a thrill, Teresa goes for it full force. Not long after, Teresa begins stripping and enjoying every minute of stripping in Georgia. She still wants to make things work with Delvin but both of them want to have their cake and eat it too. Needing a break from Delvin, Teresa heads to Florida.
While in Florida, Teresa really perfects her skills as a stripper using the name Sensation. Over time she darts in places all over Florida and Georgia having the time of her life. In the stripping clubs of Florida and Georgia, Teresa sees all kinds of things. Drugs, money, sex and violence are all around her. Being the money hungry person she is, Teresa starts to sale drugs but that doesn't last for long cause she gets kicked out of the stripping club. Teresa heads to her mother's house, needing some time to think about life, it's there that she meets Calvin. But what about Delvin? She still wants him, even though he's cheated on her. Destiny starts off fast-paced with an action-thriller feel to the story. Title character Teresa is a confused soul on the run from something. As the story goes on, readers see that Teresa thinks she knows what she wants but something almost always comes along and steers her away in the wrong direction. The events in this story will definitely keep readers turning page after page to see what Teresa will get into next. The title fits this story to the letter. Destiny is full of so many great laughs that readers will wake up from reading the story with sore stomachs. This story is full of money, drugs, sex, and violence a combination for a wonderful read. With Destiny's jaw-dropping ending, readers will be left wanting more stories from Tangelika Virginia Bolen. Always remember be careful of what you ask for, you might just get it!

OK...that was one of the best books I have read. I enjoyed it so much. It is a definite page-turner and I could not put it down. Whether there is or isn't a sequel, you have a fan. Please let me know when the next book will be out. I loved it all from beginning to end. I say that because your novel has so many interesting points, the entire novel was my favorite. I love your writing style...it just flows. Things and situations come full circle. . .You brought the elements of friendships, family support, lying, deceit, alcoholism, drugs and religion together to make for great topics of discussion. No matter what issue you take from Teresa's life there was always something else. Girl, she reminded me of few females that I know. The bottom line is that she understood that her life and situations came full circle and that what goes around will come back around. Although she was tripping on the way it went down...she excepted fate and understood destiny! The ending was fabulous and should not have ended any other way! It just showed me that we should put more faith in the Lord and not anything and anyone else. Patience truly is a virtue!! Great Job!

Destiny is the story of Teresa Tucker, a young woman who has dreams of the happily-ever-after. Along the way she finds herself in harmful relationships, one of which is with Delvin. This is an on-and-off affair filled with cheating and dishonesty.
Teresa joins the world of exotic dancing, becomes a favorite at the clubs, and makes big money. She also makes plenty of friends, but they start to die prematurely, in this world filled with envy, drugs, alcohol, and violence. Teresa travels to little clubs between Georgia and Florida performing her art. After stumbling onto a murder scene, Teresa seeks refuge at her mother's home. While there her sister expresses an interest in dancing and goes with her on several occasions. On the advice of her mother, Teresa visit's a Voodoo priestess who reveals an upcoming marriage. Teresa has been seeing the hardworking, tender-hearted Calvin, but she must decide if her destiny is still linked with Delvin. Bolen has given the world a back stage pass into a dancer's world, and readers will certainly be shocked. Recommended reading!

Tantalizing, suspenseful, sensual sexuality with an urban edge is how I would describe your novel Destiny.
Destiny challenges the audience to peer inside the mind of a young woman of innocence through a roller-coaster ride of fast money, betrayal and murder. As I read Destiny, I was reminded of the social conditions that are prevalent today of popular culture - that is of fast, quick and hurried lifestyles. Destiny is written with clarity and honesty and speaks to a larger issue than what sometime appears to be confined to urban audiences. Mainstream popular culture has been the discussion of political correct debates for the past few years and your novel reminds us of the continued struggle of self-identification of the young defined by sex, relationship and money. Destiny is a wonderful achievement, an honest, emotional and delightful novel that is sure to contribute to exciting dialogue and entertainment.

Destiny by Tangelika V. Bolen: An PeoplewholoveGoodBooks Review,
By
This review is from: Destiny (Paperback)
Destiny by Tangelika V. Bolen is page-turner from beginning to end; it is a steamy novel that will have you questioning your own "destiny". It is the story of Teresa Tucker, a woman looking for love in all the wrong places, She gets caught up in the world of fast money and life in the fast lane. Teresa gets involved in the life of exotic dancing and it turns her life upside down. Despite the way her life is going, Teresa dreams of marrying Delvin, her on-again, off-again boyfriend and settling down. However, all they do is cheat and play mind games and the relationship is more of one that is convenient and comfortable. Through her job as an exotic dancer, Teresa gets caught up with the wrong people and witnesses what turns out to be the murder of a dear friend. After bad things continue to happen to her and the ones around her, she returns home to her mother, afraid and running for her life. While at home, Teresa meets Calvin; the man who seems to love her despite her faults and despite her lifestyle; however, when she finds out that someone has a spell on her, she becomes determined to find who and why. Destiny is a book that has something for everyone: suspense, drama, mystery, and romance. It will make you laugh, cry, and keep you on the edge of your seat. It will keep you guessing until the ending when the surprising and unexpected truth is revealed. I give this book 4 stars, it is a must-read! Reviewed by Shay C of PeoplewholoveGoodBooks
