Editorial Reviews

Review

"Allow your imagination to soar with Destiny's Call. Spitz successfully paints vivid backdrops to adorn the canvas of the Biblical story. His colorful interpolations expand the reader's viewing lens to explore unchartered terrain and allow a possible glimpse of the grand Biblical landscape." - Gad Dishi, Author, Jacob's Family Dynamics

"Spitz's great skill is to make biblical life simultaneously strange and familiar; his work is filled with constant delight and discovery. In short, a treasure." - Ilana Epstein, Columnist, The Jerusalem Post

"Spitz's re-imagination of Biblical characters, places and stories is a pleasure to read. Those who study the Bible will be encouraged to revisit their assumptions; those who do not study the Bible will be inspired to do so." - Rabbi Shalom Z. Berger, Ed.D.
The Lookstein Center for Jewish Education, Bar-Ilan University

"Ben-Tzion Spitz has done a remarkable job of making the Bible relevant to contemporary English readers of all religions and faiths." - Judy Labensohn, WriteInIsrael.com

"The Jewish religion and culture have always been a part of Europe but in recent years have been disappearing in the background. This book is therefore an important reminder of the Jewish history that should be but isn't well known in Europe. This book should be read by every European." - Egbert Pijfers, Norway

From the Back Cover

Destiny's Call brings to life scenes, stories and characters from the Book of Genesis. In captivating fictional short stories, Destiny's Call gives a glimpse of the struggles of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs, the conflicts of Joseph and his brothers, and a deeper exploration of some of the colorful characters depicted in the Bible.
Destiny's Call draws heavily from biblical and archeological sources. The book includes questions for discussion, classical illustrations, detailed hand-drawn maps of the ancient world, recreated genealogical records and timeline, an index of biblical references, and a glossary of biblical terms.

Destiny's Call has been an amazing read-the stories came to life keeping me captivated throughout the book. For readers who enjoy Fantasy Fiction, or for those who are interested in the Bible & in learning the Bible from a fascinating perspective, Destiny's Call is a must read. Page after page contains stories & insights into the best, Bible / Torah personalities including: Isaac/Yitzhack, Jacob / Yaakov, Rachel, Benjamin, Judah & Joseph. I must admit that when I first heard about Fantasy Fiction books, I was not entirely sure what to expect. Destiny's Call was the 1st Fantasy Fiction book that I have dived into & I'm looking forward to the next Volume on Exodus / Shemot as a follow up to what, has been a great read.

Destiny's Call is a great read for anyone who loves Fantasy Fiction & especially for anyone with an interest in the roots of the Bible & the characters that make the Bible come to life.

Ben-Tzion Spitz tells the story as you never heard it before. You can visualize the story as it unfolds waiting and anticipating the outcome. I have read the Bible on many occasions and am quite familiar with it. But the way Mr. Spitz discribes the story, you can just imagine it taking place. Whether things actually happened that way or not, I do not know. But I can say that it leaves an impression that is hard to forget. Truly bringing the Bible to life.
