Destiny's Child: The Complete Story, the Company's newest celebrity bio. is all that and more! 3.0 out of 5 stars A Great Glimpse Into Destiny's Child, August 14, 2009

Destiny's Child: The Complete Story
When there are huge artists that create a smash, the demand to read about them becomes greater as to know more. This little book by Kelly Kenyatta is an easy read for any child, young adult, or average person. While many details are missing and some information is glossed over, the book manages to paint the picture that Destiny's Child is like no other female singing ground in the world!

Once I started reading the beginning pages, it was apparent the book was filled with much enthusiasm, charisma, and interesting facts. It goes into a great deal of information on how Destiny's Child began, grew, the break-ups, the pain, the success, and the eventual super stardom.

From reading numerous books, there were some details like Kelly's accident with toes on a tour that were not thoroughly explained. Also, there was no love live information on any of the girls except for a photo of Beyonce and Jay-Z. Nothing was mentioned regarding their intimate personal lives, favorite things, or album sales with numbers.

It explores the first album and "The Writing's On The Wall" only. There were lots of photos of Solange [Beyonce's sister] that I found very insightful -as she doesn't get much coverage as she should. The book has an in depth look into why certain former members of the group left, and the consequences. However, not every spec of detail was put on how Michelle was spotted as compared to other books I've read. Also, very little information was put on Kelly Rowland's life that could have been added.

Overall, this is a nice glossed up sweet book to get a nice snap shot of how Destiny's Child began, struggled, and grew to be one of the most successful and famous groups ever! Since this is a kid's book as now I view from the product page, then it's perfectly understandable that the reading was such a breeze, the chapters very brief, and the vibe very rated G. This is great for the die-hard fan who must have it all. For a more in depth look I recommend, Soul Survivors: The Official Autobiography of Destiny's Child.

This book reads like a sugar-coated Ebony magazine article. Not worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really is the Complete Story, December 5, 2001

This is the best Destiny's Child book because it tells you everything about the band since they first got together. It is an updated version of "Yes,Yes,Yes." There are more pictures and all the pictures are nice! This author writes about how great all the members are and were, current and past and I like that. I'll always be a LaTavia and LeToya fan although I love Bee, Kelly and Michelle. Watch out for the ex-members in a new group called Anjel!
