5.0 out of 5 stars Teasers' underrated monsterpiece
like a fine whine, this Teasers album gets better with age, and long after we're gone, it will no doubt take its place on the mantle of acknoweldged greatness. Hard to find in stores, I think you can still get new copies of this labum form the mail order dept of their label Fat Possum.

3.0 out of 5 stars The Country Teasers
I know them and they are, on the whole, horrendous human beings, but their music can be ok if you are someone with too much free time, I am guessing.

5.0 out of 5 stars This band scares me., December 24, 2000

I can't really tell if they are sincere in their racism/sexism/misanthropy, and I think that's what makes this band a particularly uneasy listen. Make no mistake about it, these guys lay down some ... fine tunes, conjured up at the crossroads of indie-rock and country/western. Still, I can't help but wonder where they're coming from when they say things like, "I am the perfect image of mankind/ my back is straight like a straight, white line..." or "I like the swastika/I also like the jew/I like the negro/and the kkk too...". the ambiguity of these sentiments is perhaps what gives the Country Teasers their peculiar charm. Owning this album makes you either an up-to-the-second, avant-garde, rocknroll outsider, or just an ordinary bigoted ....
