Excellent Early Thrash forebearers of death and black metal., November 20, 1999
By A Customer
Cuts of "Curse the Gods", "Eternal Ban" and "Confound Games" are excellent thrash, early speed and hints of death (pre vocal distortions). Venom type raw production quality and pure speed and anger makes this a must have for those interested in the founders of much of todays heavier genres. German accent of vocals lends to the mystique and power of this music. A good listen, one of my favorites from pre-modern death metal. If you like the following you'll most likely enjoy this album: Slayer: Show No Mercy, Haunting The Chapel, Hell Awaits Exodus: Bonded By Blood Exciter: any early releases Martyrium: L.V.X. occulta Venom: Welcome to Hell, Black Metal, At War With Satan

More classic thrash from Germany's best!, January 31, 2003
Superb thrash metal with amazing guitar work is what Destruction offers us on this awesome release. Classics such as "Eternal Ban" and "Curse The Gods" make this disc essential for any Destruction fan. Destruction became more technical on this album, and matured a bit from their earlier release, "Infernal Overkill", however, they certainly didn't lose any of the energy and speed that makes them great. Pure headbanging mania! Long live Destruction!

Outstanding, September 23, 2003
Destruction was one of the serious well known thrash bands from Germany, along with Sodom and Kreator, they took over the world releasing quality albums throughout the years. The thing that sets Destruction apart from the before mentioned bands and the whole trash metal genre in general was their two man guitar assualt force!! I cant remeber the name right know, but man, these two guys could PLAY GUITAR!!!! This album is thier best in my opinion, it is the classic thrash sound, but like I said before, taken to the next level buy the guitar players. These guys trade solos like their nothing and some of the riffs are just impossible to duplicate. The voice is a nasty gnarl, typical of the time, and the drumming is satisfactory. One listen to songs like "Eternal Ban" and "Mad Butcher" and I assure you, you will want to own all their catalog. If you consider yourself to be a serious metal fan, then you must give this band a try, you will thank me for it. Also, give thier new albums a try, they are solid.
