Lots of Smash'm Up Fun!!,

Just got this game a few days ago and having a great time with it. This is a great game if you are looking for mindless fun. It's not hard at all, anyone will be able to pick up a controller and join the destruction. The only issue is the game is really short, soon after you start playing you will have unlocked everything. The only thing that takes a whole lot of time is the upgrades to the cars, which are won by repeating the Championship mode over and over. I have not tried the on-line modes yet but from what I have read it's the best part of the game. I can't wait to try it out. This game is well worth the money.

I'm of two minds about this game. On one hand, it's pretty fun to sit back with a friend and drive around, crashing into other cars and making them explode. On the other hand, it is so flawed that extended play is uninteresting and replayability is nil.
The game has its good points, but none of them are all that great. Graphically, it's good-looking, but it's not the best-looking game on PS2 by any means. The physics are odd, but it's very easy to get used to how the game moves. The game is fun to play, but only for about a half hour. I haven't played online, but I imagine it's basically two-player mode without the splitscreen and with more players. The game suffers from some serious pitfalls. The camera, instead of staying behind your car so you know where you're going, pans around at seemingly random times. This is especially irritating when you're attempting to T-bone somebody, only to have your aim ruined by the camera leaving you. The announcer in the game runs out of stock phrases pretty quickly, but having nothing to say doesn't stop him. He spits out the same phrases time and time again. Finally, the game seems small, as the championship mode is like any other racing game on the market; there is no "career" mode or anything where you upgrade your car, etc. Gran Turismo it is now.

Great fun. decent graphics, easy to controll. I am 38 with three kids. We all take turns racing/destroying cars. Makes me one big kid. Only drawback that I see is that the game is only two player.

Use to play this on Nintendo 64--loved the game and it was easier than this version.
This game for the playstation is harder, but better graphics. It is much harder to get the special cars\drivers but is still great fun. A good way to get aggression or anger or irritation out of system! The whole point of game is to hit the other cars making points while doing so. Actual "place" in game isn't as important, but still is at same time. You must beat the points the champion has for that certain race. My 8 yr old grandson loves the game, but at same time gets just a little frustrated because it is harder to play. The 64 version would have been better, but this is a game that he will keep playing to try and beat.

I bought this game for my little boy for christmas. He has only gotten to play a little bit but he loves it. He thinks it is so much fun to crash in to the other cars and still win.

ok, if you like twisted metal, or driving games then I think this will be a great title to look for. I have loved this game since the 1st one on ps 1 now we have a ps2 incarnation and while the car physics are not perfect and you have a bit of a roaming camra angle, it is a blast to ram your friends into submission and even into pits of flame etc. many cars and varying stats for each car make this game a blast to play
graphics: not that clean but good and visible car damage as you get rammed is awesome 4 stars (took one off for graininess) Sound: good and about what you would expect 4 stars Fun: an absolute blast to play alone and even more fun with a friend to ram into submission! 5 stars overall: while you get No Guns, No Power-Ups, No bosses nada. you do get full on road raging all over everyone. drive the wrong way, ram your friends into other cars. it's a genuine blast to play! 4 stars (lost a star for the wandering camra angle) Buy it here if any are left. Destruction Derby Arenas PS2 only

I remember playing the old Destruction Derby series which were made by Reflections. Those were excellent games. So I was in the store, and I saw this "Destruction Derby Arenas" game and thought about how much fun I had with Destruction Derby 1. So I thought, hey this "Destruction Derby Arenas" game should be awesome especially since its online....Well I was somewhat wrong. First off, this game really doesnt feel like Destruction Derby at all. It feels like a race game designed by a 7 year old. The tracks are just retarded as hell(big rooftop surrounded by giant robot dinosaurs.....). Plus there is major slowdown in wrecking racing...which isnt good. Graphics arent that good either...they just "look" good on the back on the game case. Now the so-called real meat of the game is the online mode...which is actually alot of fun...WHEN YOU CAN FIND PEOPLE PLAYING!!! The most people I have seen playing this game online at the same time is...9 people. Yes a total of 9 people. GG! Have fun!
