Didn't expect this out of Manny on Degrassi. I am a huge Degrass;The Next Generation fan and when I heard Cassie Steel had a cd out, I thought I'd give it a listen. I was expecting bubblegum and I got hard candy. She's slowly becoming my go-to cd when I don't know what to listen to. Although this is a great cd, it's a very mature one. Language, sexual references, etc. I wouldn't recommend it for younger kids. Overall, I really love this album & can't wait till she hits the states a little more. Give it a listen, you won't be disappointed. Favorite Songs: Mr. Colson, Cliche, and Go Dark

I have just gotten into Degrassi, and Manny (Cassie) was an instant standout. I looked her up on iTunes for "Life is a Show," a catchy bubblegum pop song from the Degrassi movie... But instead I stumbled upon this, Destructo Doll... An album that changed my life. This woman, who let's not forget is only 19, is an incredible talent, vocal and songwriting-wise. Her deep and dark grunge rock music is the last thing I would have excepted, but it was defiantly a pleasant surprise. I really like "Hollywood" which is very blusey-rock-ish, and it tells a story of a girl who goes to Hollywood and loses everything. I also really love "Check It" and "Mr. Colson," plus all of the other songs. However, some (most) of them are a tad bit (a lot) adult themed. Ex. "Groupie" (Baby put your sex on me... Ain't nothin' like groupie love/Short and sweet and hot as [...]) and "Summer Nights" (On the beach smokin' trees... Hey Bobby Don't you want me/I told you I was horny...). That considered, unless you're under high school age, don't let that stop you from buying it because it saved my life (well maybe I'm over exaggerating) and I know it could someone elses too.

my daughter is a big fan of this girl, and this cd does not appear to be available in australia.purchased from amazon, this item arrived in good time for an international order.

if you were expecting some of the other type actress, vapid computer generated dance music. please leave now. This is a real rock release with searing guitars, keyboards that don't over power and a rhythm section that can keep a beat. All the while Cassie Steele is tearing up the Mic with her rock girl vocals. It opens with Groupie which is just fargin great followed by Mr Colson which is even better. She the lets out Monster with a nod to the band Heart. You and I and Hollywood turn out to be great settlers for the next track Check It which is, as far as i can tell hells bells pounding. Summer Nights is about the sexiest song written in 2 decades, Rock Star Beau is very cool and it ends with two slower tracks, Cliche and Go Dark which is actually a pretty grim set of lyrics. Who would have thought it, a sexy actress decided not to cash in on looks and went for her talent. Buy it, love it, be it!
