5.0 out of 5 stars Not a book for far left wingers, December 10, 2007

(REAL NAME)
Charles W. Sasser is a prolific writer of biography and fiction based upon actually happenings. If you are the type that blames the USA for all the world's problems, you will probably hate his books. If most of his characters seem larger than life to you, unfortunately you have never known people that have demonstrated this kind of courage and dedication. If you have served in combat areas and/or volunteered to be subjected to the threat of deadly force, you will probably enjoy all the books in the Detachment Delta series. If you really want to know what real fighting men endured during the Vietnam War and other conflicts, read the biographical books. He is unapologeticaly pro common sense American and his writing style evidences disdain for politically correct nonsense. I have read a dozen of his works and enjoyed every one even though I could nit pick a few technical errors if I wished to be a jerk.

2.0 out of 5 stars A little over-the-top., January 26, 2004
By A Customer
This was not the best book in the world if you know anything about the military, special forces or current events. The writing was slightly labored and a little over-the-top. Sometimes the dialogue was just plain silly. I didn't read the first two books in this series, and I probably won't after reading this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Nothing neutral about the views of this author, June 2, 2007
Charles Sasser's books are some of the most racist & sexist pieces of right wing propoganda in the form of a novel I've ever seen. You'll cringe and cringe often as you read his stuff. The stories are somewhat entertaining though highly unbelievable, especially if you've ever served in the military and know better.
