An eye for detail,
By James Watson (Toronto, ON Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Detail & Texture: Watercolor Basics (Watercolour Basics) (Paperback)
Michael Warr certainly has an eye for detail and his book "Detail & Texture" will please those watercolor artists who appreciate realism and near realism. His use of gouache with his watercolors will help remove any fears, or prejudices, amateur artists have held about "corrupting" the purity of the watercolor. The book takes you through several development stages of about twenty paintings to the finished product. The real beauty of this book is that the reader is not expected to copy these paintings but is encouraged to apply the techniques to his/her own subjects. |
