1.0 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware - This is a photocopy of a book from 1920, November 16, 2008

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Detailed Design of Marine Screw Propellers (Propulsion Engineering Series) (Paperback)
I have a small propeller design company and was looking for another reference book to add to our collection and found this on Amazon. The theories and hypothesis used in the book are mostly outdated as the copyright is 1920. Amazon does not disclose that this is a photocopy of a 1920 original text. The publish date on Amazon states 2006, but don't be fooled into thinking that this was when it was written. The information in the book also lacks a lot of detail because at the time they didn't truly understand cavitation and propeller efficiency because of the lack of high tech equipment we have today. If you want a good resource for learning the detailed designs of propellers you are better off using MIT's website and looking through their open curriculum and class documents on propellers, best of all it is free. Don't waste your time or your money on this photocopy, you will be disappointed, and will probably end up sending it back like I did.
