Detective Camp with a twist,
By Kerri Busteed "Kerri J. Busteed" (Wisconsin) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Detective Camp (A to Z Mysteries Super Edition, No. 1) (Paperback)
Dink, Ruth Rose and Josh go to a camp to learn more about being detectives. What they didn't know is that they were about to be involved in a real life mystery. The camp was formed to help children learn more about how to identify a fraud signature, how to lift and identify a finger print and more. What the kids discovered was that one of the employees was not exactly who they claimed to be. The children shared their hunch with a detective that was working at the camp and soon he too was on the case.
The A to Z Mystery series is a wonderful group of books. Both of my children have read them and enjoy trying to figure out the clues as they are reveiled. I would recommend this series of books for any early reader in your life. By Kerri J. Busteed Author of Will's First Hunt Will's First Hunt

My 7.5 years old son loved this book. I have trouble encouraging him to read, but this story kept his interest.

Loved This One!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Detective Camp (A to Z Mysteries Super Edition, No. 1) (Paperback)
This story is about 3 kids named Ruth Rose, Josh, and Dink who go to a detective camp. There is a woman who is copying very expensive items. Don't miss who's copying those items! I would recommend this book to anyone who loves A to Z mysteries. This book is the best one I've ever read!

Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose are back! The 27th book in the A to Z is about when they go to Detective Camp. But Dink's and Josh's counsler (Buzzy Steele) starts acting strangly. Then things start disappearing. Who is the theif? Can Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose catch her (or him) before it's too late? And can they find out why Buzzy is acting like he is? A great book!:)

snooze,
This review is from: Detective Camp (A to Z Mysteries Super Edition, No. 1) (Paperback)
I read this to my son, and for four consecutive nights he fell asleep within ten minutes. He loved the other A-Z detective stories, but this one gave too much detail and unnecessary description of artwork and jewelry. The story really begins when the kids set out on the treasure hunt, but by the time we got there, my son was zoned out.

Out of touch,
This review is from: Detective Camp (A to Z Mysteries Super Edition, No. 1) (Paperback)
Granted, this is my first chapter book I've read with my 7 year old---but honestly---it seemed rather out of touch with what kids of this age group like. And it describes for a really long time (even for me) about cleaning old paintings. Yeah, real fun. And then when the campers have all worked so hard to find treasure the ENTIRE book, it ends up being---a LOBSTER dinner. Yeah, 7 year olds love those and would love to find that in a hidden treasure chest.
I won't be getting any more of these books. |
