Of all of the protein bars I've ever had--and I've tried many--the protein bars by Designer Whey (Detour Caramel Peanut & Joyride Coconut Almond) are the best. By providing plenty of texture with either the coconut bits or the peanuts and putting plenty of flavor around their whey base it honestly tastes like you're eating a candy bar. I know that I'm sounding like I'm working for the company, but I'm just wanting to pass along the experience that I've had. I've wasted tons of money and time eating crummy protein bars. I'm really happy that my wife and I found these.

If these don't work for you as a second option I would recommend the bars by ProteinOne. Thirdly the bars by Myoplex.

Wow, so good. I've bought the smaller versions at Wal-Mart but these are definitely a better value. So large I can split in half for 2 snacks throughout the day. Just enough carmel and nuts to feel like you're splurging on a real candy bar...without the plethora of sugar and fat.

our trainer recommended this bar for my son. The trainer uses Detour, and he's a Strongman competitor. The whey is good quality protein, and the taste is very close to a candy bar.
The carmel nut one is good. Maybe the poorer reviews are for other flavors, but this one is very good.

This is probably the best testing "nutrition" bar I had had. I agree with earlier reviewers it tastes like I candy bar. I look forward to eating them during my day.

If you are looking to boost your Protein intake this a great way to do so. The bars are tasty and if you follow the directions you will not have any issues with shipping. I caution you this though. Watch your protein intake. After arming myself with knowledge I know realize that I am consuming way more protein than I should. If you need more protein, this is an easy way to get it, just make sure you need that extra protein.

I've tried a lot of different protein bars in my time. Most of them taste like cardboard, and the ones that don't taste terrible usually include excessive amounts of fat and/or carbs that eliminate most of the benefit of eating a protein bar. If you're like me, a protein bar is probably the last thing you would ever choose to eat just for fun (because most of them are disgusting).

After my first bite of the Detour Bar, everything changed. I was truly amazed at how good this protein bar tasted. It's was almost difficult to distinguish between this product and a Snickers, Milky Way or 100 Grand. Of course, they have to tone it down a little bit to make it healthy and pack in the protein, but SERIOUSLY - give this bar a try and you will see what I mean. For a product that is low in carbs, low in sugar, HIGH in protein and very filling, you will be extremely satisfied!

My husband is a health nut. He eats this bar as dessert, as well as for snacks during the day. It fills him up. The chocolate and peanut part is so good. He highly recommend this bar.

This is the best tasting and best value for a protein bar you can get!

Whey protein bars tend to taste like cardboard, or be loaded with so much sugar as to make them almost unhealthy, but this product manages to stand out. It has a lower sugar content than other bars, but still retains enough sweetness to make you actually want to finish it. Unfortunately, I just can't get over the texture of these. They feel very 'dry'. My favorite protein bars are the CLIF Builder bars, which are (in my opinion) the best tasting bars out there. But they are Soy based. As far as Whey based bars go, these are so far the best I've come across, but unfortunately, that really isn't saying a whole lot. =/
