It's a straightforward and loving testimonial to a wonderful star and mother, who tried her best to be
all that she could be to Cheryl.

Ms. Crane writes an interesting book which held my interest from the first page all the way to the end. I got the feeling that she was trying to be as open and honest as she could about her life. Yet, still I felt there were discrepancies within her book. Even after her giving a detailed description of the way Stompanato died, I still didn't believe it. Then later in the book she admits that she told her lover that she didn't really kill him. She states in the book that she lied when she said she didn't kill him but it left me wondering if she lied at that point or if she had been lying all along. I also questioned why Lana would settle out of court in the wrongful death suit brought by the Stompanato family since the court had ruled the death a justifiable homicide and the dirt about Stompanato was plentiful and public. Could Mr. Stompanato's family have been correct when they said their independent examiner stated that Johnny was killed as he was laying down? Ms. Crane mentions the fact that her mothers love letters to Johnny had been made public and that was why Lana settled out of court. So what? Everyone already knew that they were lovers. It just didn't convince me.

I had always felt that Lana killed Johnny and sent her daughter to the slaughter because Cheryl was a minor and had hoped this book would change my opinion. Alas, it really only reaffirmed it.

It's sad to think that Cheryl Crane has had to live with this pretty much all of her life.
