5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS BOOK!, March 23, 2009

This review is from: Detox: The Process of Cleansing and Restoration (Hardcover)
I have been using this book to detox for 4 years now and love it! What a great way to cleanse and still eat good tasting food. Easy to read and follow, recipes taste great. There are a couple of typos in list of foods as in, tomatoes are not listed but they are in a recipe. Use your best judgement. I did not follow to T but it worked wonderfuly. I feel the best while on this, with tons of energy plus lose weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait to get started!, December 7, 2011
By
Before doing a detox, I wanted to be informed and read quite a few books on the topic. This is, by far, the most concise of the books I've read on detoxing - 95 pages total. The text is tight, explaining the benefits of detoxing and also describing some side effects that can be had by some people (honesty is a good thing anytime). The recipies look very easy, of course, and the author also goes the extra mile in this short volume to do a total detox (body and mind), whereas other books would take chapters to describe the same thing (which isn't always a bad thing).

What make this book worth any price is "Chapter 4: Detox in a Weekend." Since many folks are pressed for time these days, this is ideal for people who either don't have the time or want to go through a complete detox. A weekend detox would also probably be ideal for people who have never detoxed - just to get their feet wet.

If the author's intention was to provide an outline for detoxing, she provided one hell of a foundation. - Donna Di Giacomo

I purchased this book several years ago and use it seasonally. The recipes are easy to follow and the quick tricks are priceless. I have had a few friends borrow this book and for some reason, they never give it back. So I have purchased this book 3 or 4 times so far. Great book to keep around!

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to follow..some issues, November 27, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Detox: The Process of Cleansing and Restoration (Hardcover)
This book was easy to read and follow, and the recipes are actually very good! Detoxing isn't complicated, nor expensive, and some books and products try to make it so...not this one. It tells you what foods to eat, what to not eat, and gives you recipes (and even a plan if you want it). It is simple as detoxing should be. We used it for one month as an elimination diet and it helped us pinpoint problems in our diet. One thing the book did not suggest that we did was supplement with a fiber digestive supplement.

However, the book is not without flaws. The current version has more than a few typos, such as obviously incorrect terms used. Also there are some odd inconsistencies...for example there is one sidebar that recommends not focusing on eating organic products(! which seems crazy at least for the biggest pesticide offenders) but then later the book recommends getting organically raised meats if you eat meat during the cleanse. ? That level of inconsistency eroded my trust in the writer.

Four stars because its easy to follow and works as a detox.
