Adam Besenyodi captures something that is almost impossible, that feeling/fire you feel when you first start reading and collecting comics or for that matter any collectible hobby. Deus Ex Comica is written in such a way that it is enjoyable to read whether you're already aware of the topics covered or this is your introduction to the topics. This collection of essays is written like the best comics of the era it mostly covers (1980's) where there may be a little over-lap between essays but just enough to get you caught up. The essays read well individually or great back to back. Informative and charming.

Adam has created a book that takes me back to a great time in my childhood/teen years. His descriptions and stories about purchasing, reading and trading comics with friends conjured up many of my own personal memories and has since inspired me to re-look at a medium that I had moved away from as I grew older. I am so glad to now consider myself to be "reborn" as a comic book fan.
