A great compilation of two real giants....., March 19, 2000

I took this CD out of the library, and was so bowled over I had to burn it. (shhhhhhh) Frankly if you have any appetite for jazz at all, this CD will get to you. Whether by the sometimes slow and heartbreaking, sometimes incredibly fast and impassioned licks of Django, or the cool wailing virtuosity of Sidney, something---some track, or even some phrase on some track---will get to you. This CD honestly expanded my horizons. My personal picks: "Songe d'Automne" and "Roses de Picardy" of Bechet, "September Song" and "Melodie Au Crepescule" of Reinhardt. You can't go wrong.
