If you are interested in finding the best products for your curly hair, give this set a try. The DVD was informative, however, according to it, my hair type (fine, very wavy) requires "low-poo," not the no-poo shampoo contained in this kit. Wish this information was as clearly provided elsewhere! I prefer Kiss My Face Whenever shampoo, which is also SLS-free.

My favorite products are the "let it free" curl enhancing spray, which I would definitely purchase again; and oddly, the brown clips, which I at first thought were a throw-away item, but turned out to be the best! I can't find similar clips anywhere, so I will order those again separately.

My hairdresser introduced this to me about 1.5 years ago, and the line is fabulous. The "DevaCurl Set It Free Mist" is amazing, my hair has never looked softer and the curls are better then ever. Also recommend the "DevaCurl Set Me Up!" (sold separately) for super frizz control, as a finisher.

After attending an author event for Lorraine Massey, and starting to read her book, Curly Girl: The Handbook, I bought this trial pack of Massey's hair care line, DevaCurl. It contains 6oz bottles of No-Poo Cleanser, One Condition, AnGEL, and Set It Free Moisture Lock.

After one use of (all four of) the products (and following Massey's curl handling suggestions), I could tell the difference. My curls were well-defined, soft, and nearly frizz-free. I was very impressed.

My curls still looked great the next day, too, though the roots at the top of my head felt a little sticky and "clumpy". In her talk & book, Massey suggested not washing every day, but rather rinsing well and reapplying conditioner. So two days after my first use, I rinsed and applied conditioner, then used the gel (but no moisture lock). Great results again - well-defined, frizz-free, and soft. My hair felt better the next day, so I think the moisture lock may not be for me. Either it just doesn't work well with my hair, or there may be some modicum of user error. I'm still experimenting with it a bit.

After just a few hair washings/conditionings, I knew I was a convert, and I sought out larger size bottles. I was glad I had the chance to try the products all together before committing to the larger size.

I'm really pleased with my results. People have started commenting on how good my hair looks. They ask if I got a haircut, or a perm, or did something else differently. I say, no, I just washed it. :)

I tried out DevaCurl on the recommendation of a coworker. The "No-Poo" shampoo is hydrating yet cleansing. Unfortunately, it leaves behind a very STRONG perfume smell that, for me, lasted the whole day and would have gone on lasting if I hadn't given up and washed my hair with a different product. There are plenty of non-natural ingredients on the label, including the extremely offensive "Parfum (Perfume)" - so I should have known better. Nevertheless, all the hype DevaCurl spends on making their product sound like it's better for you than a sudsing shampoo seems sort of misplaced if they can't even take out the artificial scents.

If you have sensitivities to perfumes, dyes, etc. this is not the product for you.

*I ordered this kit from the DevaCurl website, not from Amazon. I am leaving my review of the products here for others to read about how the products are working for me so far*

I like all the products here especially the OneCondition and the gel. My fine, curly hair holds its curl better and is soft, less fly aways, and does not feel or appear crunchy.
I have only been using for a week, and each time I do my hair feels like more natural oils are kept, but it still cleans well. I notice that my hair only gets frizzy if I wash too much conditioner out, or if I don't apply a small amount to stay in my wet hair. I live in a humid climate and this stuff keeps the frizz down just fine.

My dislike of these products as a whole is the scent. At first, I thought(after checking reviews and a lot complaining of the smell) "It's not that bad." It mostly smells like some products they use at the hair salon. The ones that leave that kind of chemical "after salon" scent in your hair, but this is intolerable compared to those which aren't bad.

After a while of using these products the smell(especially the No-Poo)just gets over whelming. Usually my husband compliments me on the smell of my hair after I shower, but he said now it smells "weird." I have used other products that were natural or organic and they still had a good smell that wasn't perfumed with "botanicals", just all natural herbs or plants.

I would give this product 5 stars if it wasn't for the smell and price. I guess the gel isn't so bad or the spray, but with all the smells mixed together it is like my husband said, a weird chemical like smell.
-Also, the price is a bit much when I can get products cheaper than this that are sulfate/silicone free for a better price, and do the job the same way. I really like the gel though. I will probably keep purchasing that.

This is the best stuff ever for curly hair. Most shampoos for curly hair contain sulfates like all the rest of the shampoos. But sulfates dry out curly hair and take the curl right out of it. After a couple weeks of using Deva Curl - your hair takes on a whole new look. Love it......
