4.0 out of 5 stars I love this book....., January 11, 2002
This review is from: Developer's Guide to Multiplayer Games (Wordware Game Developer's Library) (Paperback)
If you want a book that explains how to use Window Sockets, TCP/IP, developing a Game Lobby and not mention the awesome MySql section for storing user info then this book is for you. Learning Direct Play was cool but I wanted more on socket programming so if you want to get your hands dirty and see what's going on for your self then buy this book. I sat in the book store first because I got burned by another book and I tell you before I got to the last chapter as I skimmed through it I was sold! The book is a gem and the author's explanations are clear and consise you will be up to speed in no time.
