This review is from: Developing Number Concepts Planning Guide (Paperback)
I love Kathy Richardson's Developing Number Concepts books. I am homeschooling and I had to take a continuing education course for my teacher certification. The first book (#1) was in my course. At first, I thought it seemed odd, but as I read it, I was amazed by it. It is wonderful! Super easy prep, great explanations, and very effective teaching lessons. After ordering all 3 books, I ordered this book because I thought it would be helpful. It really wasn't. I am a former classroom teacher and I don't think I would use it in the classroom either. The set of 3 books are wonderful for any Elementary teacher, but I would pass on the planning guide. It isn't aligned with any state standards (which would make it useful to a classroom teacher). It outlines the 3-4 year plan for preK-3 of how to use all 3 books for each grade. If you think that would be useful, you might request it from the library. Kathy Richardson also has her own website that you can order books through (I noticed it is only sold here used at a very high price), if you think that it really would be useful to you. |
