For every chapter, the Study Guide will include a "Preview" and "At A Glance" sections (both provide an overview of and objectives for the chapter). Each major topic includes a progress test, comprised of multiple-choice, matching, and/or true/false questions. The Guide also contains "Graphic Organizers," which encourage students to complete graphs, charts, and flow diagrams that ultimately provide a visual synopsis of text material. 4.0 out of 5 stars Duplicate Edition June 12, 2013
By Bren
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
If you are taking a child development class this is the book you should use. The only down side was someone in the class had the 8th edition and the wording between both books was almost word for word. So unless you get a class that uses the 10th edition just save the money and buy the 8th edition. For the most part the book was great and really put everything out there, I just couldn't get past how much it was a copy of edition 8.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Text Book May 11, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
Textbooks can be boring, overwhelming, insulting, underwhelming... This text is well written, well organized and interesting enough to hold your attention. I have enjoyed reading it and like Kathleen Stassen Berger's writing style. This is one of the better Psychology books I've had.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Textbook February 7, 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
We have found that renting textbooks are the way to go. It has saved us a bundle of money and when we are done, we just send it back and then we look for other books for my daughters college classes.

I needed this for a college class and it was one of the few textbooks I didn't mind reading. Berger is clear and provides many examples for understanding.

This was a very nice book that explains the concepts and applications of the material very well. That and the figures are very well explained and laid out.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's a good read.
I purchased this text book because it was required for my Child Dev class. I got a reasonable price through Amazon. It is a decent read--interesting, but not fascinating. Read more

Definitely Definitely served the purpose for my child development class, going the different route of getting a cheaper book and also getting an A in the class is great!

What was expected.
Easy to follow and understand.

Also, the loose leaf books are always reasonably priced, which is why I prefer them.
