I had to read this book for Life Span development at the graduate level. Considering this is a topic that I find dry and borring, this book was excellent and I enjoyed reading it.
It covers Biosocial,Cognitive and Psychosocial development for all stages of life leading up to death with lots of charts, discriptions, and a side bar of definition terminology.

I used this text for my Human Development CLEP and I passed it with flying colors. I would recommend it for CLEP review. It does have its faults though, not enough diversity and lacks a variety of actual tests/studies in the field - which showed me a weak spot in my CLEP review.

Although this text does lack in diversity, I felt that the content was written in a very easy to comprehend manner. This is a great book for someone who has never had any previous human development or psychology exposure, as it often states the obvious. I used this text for an independent study course with no lecture, so the content I was tested over was straight from the book. This is not a textbook to be intimidated by or even evoke dread of having to use this for a course you will be taking. I think you will be pleasantly surprised once you open it and really start to read it.

I purchased this book at a greatly discounted cost. The book arrived in the condition that I had contracted for, and I am pleased with the service I received from this vendor. 5 stars all the way!

The Kindle edition for PC or Mac (or iphone) displays many of the graphics so small that their contents can't be read or understood. Zooming isn't possible on either the PC or Mac desktop versions. On the iphone, it results in a larger, but distorted graphic that is equally unreadable. No savings here. I'm about to buy a hard copy, which means I've wasted my $55.00.

We're using this text in my current Dev Psych class. It's excellent in many ways--highly readable and thought provoking. My only complaint is that there seems to be little if no acknowledgement or discussion of same-sex couples as parents. Two-parent families are assumed to be male-female pairs. With so many gay and lesbian couples adopting or having children, the phenomenon should at least be acknowledged in the text and the current research addressed in some way.

I ordered for 7th editions but they delivered 5th editions so that doesn't help me at all, i sent the book back to the seller and i never get the money back . that's my terrible experience with the amazon.com
