This review is from: Developing Php Applications for IBM Data Servers (Paperback)
2 years ago I got this because I was needing to rapidly implement PDO with PHP to connect to INFORMIX. I had been using the IFX capabilities but would not give me the cursor control I needed. So I got this book. Most of the book talks about PHP basics, database basics and less than 20 pages actually talks about using PDO. None of them go into accurate detail about setting it up. I had to figure it all out. I spoke with the book's authors about it and they seemed unconcerned. I offered to be involved in revision 2 of the book. I wrote up the entire how to and submitted it to the IIUG International Informix User's Group and posted comments on PHP's website regarding Informix PDO and PHP and on Informix's website so it's all there. Don't by this book. If you're using PDO your more advanced than this. Also, publisher sent me wrong book originally and wanted me to send it back. I told them they could send me a mailer and then this one. They finally sent me this one but tried to charge me for it. Amazon was glad I was using Amazon to protect me.
