3.0 out of 5 stars Great for Teachers of Teachers, Nearly Useless for K-12 Teachers

3.0 out of 5 stars Great for Teachers of Teachers, Nearly Useless for K-12 Teachers, August 25, 2006
This review is from: Developing Portfolios in Education: A Guide to Reflection, Inquiry, and Assessment (Paperback)
Even though this book was well written, researched, and organized, it wasn't as useful to me as I had hoped. Having recently obtained a Masters in Ed., I am very familiar with many of the strategies presented because they were used in my masters program. As a new high school teacher, what I was hoping for was a book to facilitate transfer of these methods to secondary education courses of varying curricula. There is virtually no help with this.

However, someday when I pursue my doctoral degree, I will most certainly dust this book off and use it. For that purpose, it is excellent. I just wish the target audience was more clearly stated or more obvious from the title/cover of the book.
