David W. Champagne, EdD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Administrative and Policy Studies in the School of Education at the University of Pittsburgh. He has delivered numerous presentations and conducted workshops in supervision, curriculum, instruction, staff development, and school planning across the United States and in Canada, Jamaica and on the USS Universe. He is co-author of Consultant Supervision, The Personal Styles Inventory, The Intelligent Professor's Guide to Teaching, and How to Make a Better School. He is currently co- director of a standards writing and curriculum development project in a Consortium of Charter Schools in Colorado. During the 1997-98 academic year he was on sabbatical leave studying technology use at The Sagemont School.
Brent O. Goldman, EdD, is principal of The Sagemont School and an adjunct professor. Dr. Goldman is an accomplished educator with experience at the preschool, elementary and high school levels. He is state certified as a teacher and as an administrator in Florida and received his master's and doctorate degrees in education from Nova Southeastern University. His concern with developing the well-rounded individual is exemplified in his leadership roles as coach and class sponsor. He is particularly competent in working with parents on issues related to their children's development. Dr. Goldman has developed a high level of expertise in working with technology as it relates to learning.
Richard M. Goldman, PhD, is one of the founders of The Sagemont School. He is the former provost and dean of education for the Fischler Center for the Advancement of Education at Nova Southeastern University. As the nation's largest graduate school of education (8,000 full-time students), many of the key leaders throughout the United States are graduates of these programs (superintendents in New York City, Washington D.C., Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Atlanta). Dr. Goldman created two graduate programs for early childhood educators--Master's Program for Child Care Administration, Ed.D. Program in Child and Youth Studies. He is the first distinguished professor of education at NSU.
Dr. Goldman's three decades in education have focused on early childhood education as a teacher, university professor, and university administrator. His twenty_five published articles and books are used by educators throughout the United States. In the 1980s, Dr. Goldman and his wife, Dr. Renee Goldman, developed a plan for what became one of the model preschools in the United States__Another Generation Preschools (AGE). Today, AGE includes six preschools which serve 1,231 children and their families. The nation's thirtieth largest preschool operation has received numerous honors: national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children and selection by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida's quality oriented companies.
Phyllis M. Olmstead, EdD, has a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master in Education from the University of Central Florida. She is an international distance education speaker, consultant, and educator. Her background includes Agribusiness and Natural Resources Education, Hospital/Homebound, computers, technology, and video, audio, and computer conferencing.
Dr. Olmstead was named a Certified Distance Learning Instructor by the United States Distance Learning Association in February 1998. As an international consultant and speaker in the area of distance education, Olmstead has written numerous papers on the subject. She co_authored and co_edited the book I Make a Difference: Making the transition from Clinician to Educator, a Delmar Publication.
