Well-done and easy to understand,
By George Elliott (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Developing Proofreading and Editing Skills (Paperback)
If anyone wants a book that is easy to understand when learning to proofread, it's definitely this one. I loved it and have made it a part of my professional library. The author is very complete and thorough without being too redundant or superflous. I had bought another proofreading book through Amazon.com which was horrible, stuffy, and boring. Even though this book was a little more expensive, it was well worth the extra cost.

This 4th editon icnludes a CD Rom with applications and review modules. I consider this to be an important resource for developing self editing skills as well as for offering meaningful constructive critiques with our local writer's group. I appreciate the comprehensive exercises, the user friendly chapter format with higlighted tips, (including software tips)and net links.

Condition of Book Not as Advertised,
By Lisa G. Corso (RIVERVIEW, FL, US) - See all my reviews
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Developing Proofreading and Editing Skills (Paperback)
I received the used book, and CD in prompt timing; shipping was quick. However, my only complaint is the seller stated that there were no "marks" in the book. Practically every exercise had answers written in pencil, making it difficult to use the book's pages as homework. They are "tear-out" pages just for that. As a result, I retyped most of the homework, just because, the answers already written on the textbook were not my homework. Aside from that, everything else was truthful, and the price was very affordable. But if you've written in the book that you are selling, just say so!

Unsatisfied textbook order,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

The worst text book ordering experience that I've ever had.
The book that I ordered was used but supposed to be close to new. After receiving the book, I was very disappointed. There are about 10 pages missing, and there are copy notes and even some personal notes from the last person who used the book inside here or there. Apparently, the seller didn't even check the condition of the book before wrapped it up for sale.

Developing Proofreading and Editing Skills (workbook),
This review is from: Developing Proofreading and Editing Skills (Paperback)
The basic book is in pretty good condition. However, it was marked up, mostly in pencil, thank goodness, but also some pen. I have spent a good deal of my time erasing each page so that I can use the book. But, I guess I should be okay about it at such a low, low price! Thanks.
