1.0 out of 5 stars Book is just too bad, July 21, 2008
This review is from: Developing SAP Applications with Adobe Flex (Hardcover)
One would expect that a book by 3 authors with a lot of SAP experience would tell you exactly how Flex and SAP can play together. Surprise! out of 8 chapters, 7.5 are devoted to just basics of Flex with no SAP context. And these chapters are to pitch it mildly at best mediocre.

From the perspective of Flexing SAP UI, the authors have shown one way (using BSP's) out of a possible 4. The sample application for time recording is developed using custom tables and does not really talk to any SAP backend functionality...might have as well not used SAP, just a database instead. Whatever happened to SAP time functionality in HCM...like ESS? What about talking to SAP enterprise services? What about deploying to portal? Well assuming the reader is intelligent, he/she will eventually figure it out but that begs the question...why would an intelligent reader buy this book after reading this review? I can't believe SAP Press published this.
