2.0 out of 5 stars Very poorly written
This book was very poorly written. You would have thought from the title that it would have had more about the disorders and their etiology. Not worth buying

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, February 27, 2011
Dr. Pennington has taken a complex subject, understanding the development of psychopathology, and provided the reader with a solid foundation for understanding a new paradigm. This book does require that the reader have at least a graduate level understanding of cognitive neuroscience, but Dr. Pennington makes that clear from the beginning. After discussing the broad underpinnings which are the basis for the new paradigm, he goes into a thorough review of specific disorders from the perspective of developmental cognitive neuroscience. Most enlightening is his expansion of the nature-nurture theories. I highly recommend this book to professionals in the field of pediatric clinical and neuropsychology, as well as graduate students interested in this field.
